Green Mountain Inn

Character property with resort-style amenities

This historic inn dates from the early 1800’s and has played host to presidents and other notable figures over the years. Nowadays the inn has transformed into a beautiful luxury hotel with a wide range of facilities and a wonderfully central location in the heart of Stowe. As well as two acclaimed restaurants, guests can enjoy plenty of amenities including a year-round heated pool and submerged Jacuzzi tub, a fitness centre, a massage centre and complimentary afternoon tea and cookies for a touch of indulgence. The decor and rooms are traditional, cosy and rather comfortable, making this the ideal base for an authentic period stay in Vermont’s premier town resort.

Great Stay!

New Hampshire

We rented one of the three bedroom townhouses. It was really nice. Lots of room. Great kitchen, dining area and a cozy living room with a gas fireplace. The decor was ski country theme. The whole weekend was relaxing and a great break from the daily grind. Easily use as a four bedroom as the den off the kitchen had a double sofa bed and an on suite full bath. We would definitely return. Right in the center of town.

Cuteness quotient cornered

Vancouver, Canada

In a town where the cuteness quotient has clearly been cornered, the Green Mountain Inn fits inn perfectly. The quaint town of Stowe, which to one traveler is reminiscent of Whistler at its inception, is dominated by this facility, whose history is well preserved along the walls of its interior corridors. Quibblers will have difficulty finding a nit to pick: Some travelers will not like the fact the hotel’s main guest directory is available only through OCR text recognition/barcode. But that’s about it for faults on this stay, and as for nice added touches, there’s a Sound Machine in each unit which has the effect of lulling you to sleep with the birds or waves. A solid choice when for leaf peepers or at any time of year.
