Character property with resort-style amenities

This historic inn dates from the early 1800’s and has played host to presidents and other notable figures over the years. Nowadays the inn has transformed into a beautiful luxury hotel with a wide range of facilities and a wonderfully central location in the heart of Stowe. As well as two acclaimed restaurants, guests can enjoy plenty of amenities including a year-round heated pool and submerged Jacuzzi tub, a fitness centre, a massage centre and complimentary afternoon tea and cookies for a touch of indulgence. The decor and rooms are traditional, cosy and rather comfortable, making this the ideal base for an authentic period stay in Vermont’s premier town resort.

Perfect Stay, Ideal Location

Petaluma, California

We stayed in the Peter Lovejoy suite. The room was spacious, quiet, and comfortable, and had a nice view of the Town Hall from the front windows. It was a great home base to explore Stowe and its history.

Brilliant Experience

Bedford, United Kingdom

We chose this hotel over the recommendation of our travel company and we are so glad we did ! It is right in the middle of Stowe , which for us on an Autumn visit was perfect. Maybe if you are there for skiing , a hotel nearer the slopes might be more sensible, but the distance to the ski slopes is not too far anyway. Initially , we were a little unsure as the hotel is so quaint , but it really was perfect. It combined individually decorated , comfortable rooms , with every modern facility hoped for in a good hotel. Afternoon tea is served from about 3-5 pm with homemade cakes and the morning breakfast is excellent. The swimming pool is large with comfortable loungers and a bar where you could easily enjoy a full day’s leisure if you wished. We mentioned in passing to the reception desk that our ac was noisy and it was attended to immediately . To our total surprise we had $75 deducted from our bill on leaving for our inconvenience . We certainly were given the impression that each visitor was important to the whole staff. We would recommend this hotel to everyone.
