Restaurant review

Beacon Falls, Connecticut

Booked room at last minute - nice room overlooking water with balcony and fire place. Restaurant disappointing. Why do so many water view restaurants offer poor food? Ordered a gin and tonic with just a splash of tonic. Drink came filled to the brim - tonic was totally flat. Ordered clam chowder , which should have been excellent since I was in New England at a waterside restaurant. Pretty sure this soup came out of a can and reheated in a microwave. Then had the Caesar salad. Bland, wilted, forgettable. The service was swift but there was only one other table in use in the dining room. Seating also available at the bar with lovely views but food made the experience not worth it. Guess this restaurant figures it can offer sub par food to offset the view. I'd stay at the inn again but find another place to eat.

Inn at Mystic

Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania

Old, musty in poor repair, over priced. Open door to stairs to go down to room-overwhelming musty smell. Felt like in basement. TV did not work-voicemail said could move across hall. Note on door said could upgrade- if had known that earlier, would have. No credit offered. Not worth the price. Have stayed many many places on water- never so musty-because everything so old. Bed uncomfortable causing rolling to middle
