The Cromwell in Las Vegas

Apple Valley, California

First of all, the staff was overall very polite and professional. The rooms were nice and there were no issues with housekeeping. Check in was not a great start. We used a third party vendor to book our room. We have used this vendor many times in the last 5 years and never had any glitches with a wide range of hotels all over Vegas and Southern California. This time there was a problem. What disappointed me was that the check in staff said there was nothing they could do about it. I would think they might be able to call somebody or at least pretend to call someone so I would think that they care. We had to call ourselves. We finally got our keys after we had to wait on the phone and straightened out the third vendor business. Not once did anyone come over and ask if we needed anything or if they could help. A staff member did give us a bottle of water. We got our key, went to the top floor and discovered that they gave us a key to an occupied room. We took our luggage back downstairs and got another key for an unoccupied room. The Cromwell has some type of automated texting service asking how your stay is going. When I responded and told them what happened, they comped one day of the resort fee (41.95 per day), only after we strongly suggested maybe some sort of compensation was appropriate. Things didn’t vastly improve after that. There was no basic hotel info in the room. My wife called the front desk to find out the pool hours. She was told 9:00am. When we got there, they told us it opens at 10:00. When we returned at 10:00, they told us they were opening late because of some cleanup from the attached night club. On that note, if you are a late party type, this is the place for you. However between the music and the guests returning to their rooms, using loud voices and slamming their doors, it was hard to get a good nights sleep. The next day I discovered they had run out of soap for the soap dish. When we asked for some, we were told they were out of soap. However, housekeeping remembered to provide soap later that day after cleaning the room. An odd feature of the hotel was the complimentary coffee machine for guests on the 7th floor. We didn’t have a machine on our floor, nor were we told that we could avail ourselves of this perk. Finally when we left self parking, which they already billed us for, we had to call the parking attendant to open up the gate. It wouldn’t take the room key like it was supposed to.

Very Nice & Chic Hotel!

Washington DC, District of Columbia

Everyone on staff including the night club and bar tenders are so friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend staying here as this hotel is right in the mix of the strip and a lot of celebrities stay here too. Added bonus 😊
