The summer offers warm weather and long days, while autumn brings beautiful russets in the landscapes. Visit in winter for the best skiing when you finish in Denver.
Our multi-centre begins in Yellowstone National Park. Set in the vast expanse of the Rockies, here you’ll find rugged nature at its best. Take to the trails and look out over luscious green valleys and craggy cliffs, thundering waterfalls and meadows full of wildflowers.
Next is the spectacular drive through the park and Wyoming’s beautiful landscapes to Mount Rushmore. This iconic masterpiece is home to the famous presidents’ heads, which are carved into the rock and look out over the valley below.
Finish your multi-centre in Denver. The mile high city is located in the mountains and is home to a fascinating culture. It’s surrounded by mountains where you can ski, snow board and dog sled in the winter and hike, horse ride and mountain bike in the warmer months.
Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone National Park is set in the rugged Rocky Mountains. It’s home to emerald forests, craggy cliffs and towering mountains. You’ll also find wildflower meadows, luscious valleys and waterfalls.
Explore Yellowstone National Park with an expert ranger, or wander on your own and get to know its glorious landscapes. You’ll find powerful geysers, including Old Faithful, so named because it erupts around every 15 minutes and offers a spectacular display. This unique natural sculpture of Mammoth Springs is another must, as are the vibrant colours of Grand Prismatic Spring.
Animal lovers will find a huge range of animals that can be found in Yellowstone National Park. These include over 300 species of birds, including golden eagles, bald eagles, cranes and ravens. You can also see wolves, bears, bison, elk and moose. There are plenty of opportunities to spot at least one of these majestic creatures in the vast national park.
Mount Rushmore

Mount Rushmore’s famous carved presidents is one of the USA’s most iconic sights. Dating back to the 1920s, quiet South Dakota was a forgotten corner of the States before historian Doane Robinson put the idea for the famous sculpture in motion.
Today the faces of Presidents Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson look down on you from this striking display. Carved into the side of the mountain, construction began in 1927 and was finally unveiled in 1941.
Visit this incredible structure on foot, through the half a mile forest trail. There are then 422 steps to reach the structure. There’s also the Lincoln Borglum Visitor Center, where you can learn more about the history of the monument and see the stages of its construction.
Denver

Denver is one of the USA’s most famous mountain cities. It’s developed an interesting arts scene and is also perfect for those who want to explore the beautiful landscapes in the surrounding mountains.
Adventurers will love the many activities in the mountains. In the winter you can enjoy the fresh powdery snow, perfect for both beginners and experts. Try skiing, snowboarding or even dog sledding as you take in the beautiful mountains and valleys. In the summer there are meadows full of wild flowers and deep forests to explore with hiking, biking and horse riding.
The natural scenery creeps into the city itself. Denver is full of tree lined streets and peaceful parks, perfect for those who enjoy wandering through the pretty city. You can also visit the comedy club or see a gig, with many big acts visiting the city on national tours. When it comes to shopping, there are boutiques in the city centre, or the 16th Street Mall, which is home to a wide range of designers.
