Would not return

Milwaukee, Wisconsin

My poor experience with the Westin Waterfront started before I even arrived. I called to ask about the public transportation from the airport to the hotel and the gentleman on the phone had no idea that there was a free silver line shuttle that dropped you off 2 blocks from the hotel. We had two small kids we were trying to avoid car seats with and he couldn’t quite understand why I just wouldn’t Uber. We requested a crib for my son. After asking for it two nights in a row (requested prior to check-in), we gave up. The hotel is currently under a strike- the protestors start early morning with loud drumming and horns. You need to request to have your room cleaned. First day beds got made but no garbages emptied or towels refreshed or vacuumed. Next day the garbages were emptied but nothing else done, not even the beds made. We ended up relocating to the Intercontinental for the rest of our visit and that did not disappoint like the Westin. Do yourself a favor and skip over this hotel.

Good enough

Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom

We stayed here at beginning of 3 weeks travelling US east coast having never been before. This hotel is a typical business/conference one and as much as breakfast is available it is not relaxing at all due to numerous conference and business folk filling the lobby. Internal Starbucks is an option but very expensive. Typically clean, comfortable room, 2 double beds. We were disappointed with the position as would have been much easier and more pleasant in the middle of town with ease of access to everything. Hindsight is a great thing. Free WiFi was rubbish and in fact we couldn't get on it at all. Made an enquiry to reception who were rather unhelpful.
