The first skyscraper in Boston, built in 1928, the sophisticated Hilton Boston Back Bay exudes New England style charm and boasts some great views of downtown Boston and the Charles River. It's ideally located in picturesque and historic Back Bay, close to the boutique shopping on Newberry Street and within walking distance of most of Boston's attractions including the Freedom Trail. Not many American cities are condusive to walking but Boston is, and chances are you'll be pounding those pavements so enjoy the added bonus of the hotel's indoor pool for a relaxing dip afterwards.

Rude and discourteous management

We booked the ultimate escape package as it promised late checkout when available. This would really help our family as we had a night flight with 2 children. We were informed on the morning of leaving that checkout was 11.00am. I asked about late checkout and was told we could have one, but would have to pay extra. Even after explaining the ultimate escapes promise of late checkout as part of the deal when available they refused to assist. So much for the Hilton promise to ‘make things right’. Far from making it right, the manager was rude, discourteous and showed lack of customer skills. On top of this they have not released the hold on the credit card swiped on arrival, but also created an extra hold on my debit card I paid with at checkout (after also taking the payment). I have emailed them regarding this however nothing has been done so having to work with my bank to resolve. I travel frequently both with my family and with work. This experience spoiled the last leg of this holiday (which was fantastic up to that point) and has me determined never to set foot in a Hilton again!!!! It’s a shame as the door staff and others were nice.

Rude management


We are Hilton rewards members, and regularly book there. We asked for a waiver in cancellation party 36 hours out, the manager declined through an employee and kept us on hold for 30 minutes before hanging up on us to explain that it was due to a family illness. Hilton has lost our business. Not waiving the policy is one thing, being rude and discourteous is another. What’s funny is we were simply going to reschedule for a week later. But they didn’t hear that, because they wouldn’t talk to us.
