In process of renovating

Vancouver, Washington

The Westin has a great location on Kanapali Beach next to Whalers Village. The outdoor walkways, pool area and outdoor restaurants need both aesthetic help and better food. The lobby and Valet areas have been re-done --though the valet area is not as spacious as you would expect to maintain good flow. I like the waterfall rock formation area at check-in that includes comfy lounge seating and a nearby Starbucks if you need to wait a little bit for your room. The new Bonvoy which combines Marriott and Starwood SPG reward members provided us with a buffet breakfast daily and free Valet--based on our Titanium Elite status. We are nearby owners at the Marriott Ocean Club timeshare property down the beach. We received a Hotel package to check out the Weston's new timeshare property "Nanea". Our Westin Hotel Resort & Spa room located in the original building was not overly spacious with limited options for luggage storage. The room was clean with two double beds that were very comfortable for my husband and I(better view by not taking a king bed room as almost sold out). Air conditioning worked well to keep us at our desired temperature. The carpet a bit worn inside the room--while in the hallway the carpet needs re-stretching. One elevator working vs the pair of elevators near our room on the 10th floor. We have stayed at several properties along Kanapali Beach--surprised this Westin property fell behind in maintenance. I am pleased it is in the process of getting the renovations it so badly deserves on one of the best beaches in the world.

Comfortable, convenient, clean, and relaxing

Tacoma, Washington

It was our first time to Maui and we stayed 2 nights as a stopover to Oahu. We didn't need to take the rental car out. There are shops (ABC Store is next door), restaurants (in whalers village & in other hotels), and an expansive beach nearby. There's a free Shuttle too, but we didn't have to use it.My daughter loved all of the pools, especially the slide and secret grotto (although I think it was supposed to be a hot tub but it wasn't working). We had a mountain view and it was amazing (reminded my daughter of Moana the movie). The rooms have a fridge which is helpful and a balcony to enjoy the scenery. It could use some updating, but overall was comfortable. The staff were friendly & helpful, especially the front desk staff. We would definitely stay here again. Outdoor Pools

The outdoor pool complex is a tropical wonderland of exotic palms, sparkling water features and plenty of terrace space. Covering close to two acres, this area is the combination of five different pools and offers features for guests of different ages to enjoy, ranging from a children's pool and mini-slide for younger guests to a 120-foot long flume and swim-through waterfall grotto for older guests. There is also an adults only Jacuzzi and pool for those times when you want a more peaceful paddle.

Heavenly Spa by Westin

With 15,000 square feet, this spa and beauty salon facility is a serene oasis of relaxation, offering a wide range of indulgent options for you to choose from. There are gender specific locker rooms with a steam room, sauna and whirlpool tub in each as well as special outdoor cabanas surrounded by nature for an al fresco relaxation experience.
