Loved this resort...not quite 5 stars on this visit

To begin, we loved this resort and would absolutely love to stay again after the renovations are completed. The grounds are beautiful! The garden/pools are like a tropical oasis compete with beautiful waterfalls and gorgeous foliage! The service is outstanding! The beds are extremely comfortable and rooms updated. The location is perfect...next to Whaler’s Village, a 5 minute drive to Lahaina ($11 Uber or free shuttle) The resort has a free shuttle that will take you there and will also take you to the other Westin properties if you like). There was quite a bit of construction going on in and around the resort so I would definitely request a higher floor if your room is facing the mountain side of the resort, otherwise you will hear and see lots of construction which I was told will be a new parking structure. The entrance to the resort is awkward with not much of an entrance/lobby, but the warm, friendly staff certainly made up for what may be lacking in the initial visual impression. We prepaid the hotel as part of a vacation package. I was surprised at the end of our visit to have a bill which was an extra $60 per day for parking and resort fee. This seems excessive to me, but it seems that many resorts are doing this now. There was no self-parking available, so we had to use valet. We dined at Relish, the poolside restaurant, several times. The food was very good and service excellent. There is also a Starbucks on the property. We absolutely loved the service throughout the resort! Every person we encountered were extremely courteous, friendly and attentive! I would absolutely recommend this resort even with the construction.

Busy but Beautiful

San Diego, California

We spent three nights here for a wedding, and found the property and room lovely. It was beautiful, but not as idealistic or remote or jaw dropping as some of the hotels have felt during my island stays. However, for those looking for a little pool excitement, this could be a great place to go. As part of the wedding group we had a traditional room with "heavenly bed and bath," which is still a parking lot view. It was quiet enough, and felt very much like a traditional hotel on the interior hallways. Still a nice spot, and one I think both families and couples would enjoy.
