Great location—Needs ugrading

Las Vegas, Nevada

This is our third stay. Fine place for a few days. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. But rooms could use updating. Very tiny bathrooms. Moderately priced. Nice ocean views. Nice bar. Not a luxury resort.

Tired and outdated

Morrinsville, New Zealand

Don't be fooled by the photos that make this hotel look like a tropical paradise, that it may have been 20 years ago. The check-in staff try hard and are friendly. We were in the far tower on a side room that overlooked the little lagoon and ocean. Room smelled musty, and shower fittings were loose. Handy extra sink in the min-bar area was great. Other than that, I tried to forget how much we paid for this place in the context of our broader holiday plans, although not many alternative options in Kona area. Parking was $12/day and no 'resort fee', which was good. Care with the floors around the accommodation towers when it rains as they can be slippery. The tour booking desk gets very busy. I wanted a copy of a specific activity brochure to look at, but others standing behind the counter would not provide it. I had to wait in line to see a specific lady. I got sick of waiting after about 20 mins and left. I ended up googling the info I needed, and went on to make my own booking directly instead, which was much faster and simpler.
