Beautiful resort and beach

We stayed for two nights for an anniversary trip and we were upgraded from a garden room to an ocean view room. The views of the bay and beach from our room were great. The room was large and well appointed, as was the balcony with the two chaise lounges. We got to the beach around 9:00 am and 80% of the chairs were taken, but we were able to get two together up front. The snorkeling was good near the manta ray lookout point and between there and the right-hand floating mat - saw a sea turtle, large moray eel, a school of large needlefish, and several of the typical colorful fish found in/near many Hawaiian reefs. I also snorkeled at night with the rays and that was the highlight of my trip (or at least my snorkeling adventures). Oh, and the staff was friendly too.

Beautiful Scenery, Average service

Hotel is located about 50 minutes away from the Kona airport. Stayed two nights. At check in I was offered fresh juice. Room was very spacious. The beach at the hotel was well taken care of. Had breakfast buffet at Manta and thought the selection of food/fruits was decent. Dinner at Manta was somewhat disappointing. Food was okay, but the server kept asking about pairing dinner with wine when I had already told her I was not interested in any alcoholic beverages for the evening. I declined the first time, and when I was asked about having wine the third time I really could not enjoy the food anymore. I felt like the hotel was very quiet, private place. always plenty of empty chairs on the beach. the open design of the hotel allowed cool breeze to come throughout the day. This hotel stay can be used to earn Marriott or Prince Preferred points (choose one or the other depending on which points matter the most to your travel needs). Overall beautiful property, recommend for anyone looking for a quiet vacation.
