Palm Beach Gardens, Florida

Most resorts are like most cruises, they are built on mediocrity. Keep everyone basically happy. Cruises keep you captive with stops for visits and most expenses included. Resorts keep you less captive, if you rent a car, but almost nothing is included. Like $38 valet parking, $36 breakfasts, and vending machines for beach towels. Vending machines for beach towels at a resort? Really? The Hilton has 3 or 4 residential towers over a mile long, and a tram to get you between them that might as well been horse drawn. One early morning there was a 15 minute wait for a tram. You need to be on vacation to have the time to waste on resorts. I was captive because I went to a conference here, I sure wouldn’t go on my own dollar.

Superb resort

Feilding, New Zealand

We had a lovely room at this hotel- spotless. The resort is awesome, a number of restaurants to choose from for eating in, we ate in the italian which was really good and also the grill by the bar which was nice too as it overlooks the dolphin pool. My daughter and I did the dolphin experience which was awesome. Great selection of things to do- the lagoon was really special, loved siting by and swimming in this. The only down side would be the waking of the birds at dawn, this is quite noisy but I got used to it after a few mornings
