FANTASTIC Management, Staff, Customer Service & Accommodations! Just Stay Here!

New Port Richey, Florida

As a Marriott Titanium Guest, our family [husband, wife, two young daughters] decided to enjoy a "Staycation" in Hyde Park (neighborhood in South Tampa) to celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary. We spent two (2) nights at The Epicurean earlier this month (February 2020) and our stay was absolutely sublime. This full-service luxury hotel [137 rooms and suites] is located just steps away from the world-famous Bern's Restaurant (where we dined one of the nights during our stay) as well as all of the restaurants / bars and shops of Hyde Park and a little more than 1/2 mile to Bayshore Boulevard. In other words, the location of the hotel is ideal to explore Hyde Park, South Tampa, Downtown Tampa and the greater Tampa Bay area. Immediately upon making our two (2) night stay using Marriott certificates given to us as Titanium guests of Marriott, we emailed General Manager Kevin Scott and Front Office Manager, Darren Reltherford and advised them of our upcoming stay as well as our multiple special requests related to our 14th wedding anniversary. Mr. Scott readily granted ALL of our special requests. This prompt response from Mr. Scott did not come as a surprise to us given how active he is in reading and promptly replying to their guests on Trip Advisor as well as the Marriott.com website, which is but a mere sign of his commitment to exemplary customer service. Since we are local, I had an opportunity to personally meet with Mr. Reltherford a few weeks prior to our stay during a business lunch and he made certain to reconfirm our reservation as well as our special requests. Not surprisingly, we were overjoyed with such a response and really looked forward to our future stay at The Epicurean. Our initial visit to The Epicurean did not disappoint, especially when we arrived to find out that Mr. Scott had provided us with a complimentary upgrade to a Junior Suite. The check in process with Vanessa was a breeze (thank you for the complimentary wine at check-in for the adults and the bottled water for our two young daughters) and Vanessa personally escorted us to our Junior Suite (403) with our luggage. Upon arrival to our Junior Suite, there were three (3) different baskets of goodies: one for the adults (consisting of chocolate dusted almonds, raisins, dried apricots, dried cranberries and assorted macaroons, bottled still water as well as a chilled bottle of champagne) and one each for our two (2) daughters (consisting of numerous treats, including cotton candy, chocolates, hard candies and a coupon for a free scoop of ice cream). We have never been so pampered by a hotel. What an incredible and delightful surprise! We simply loved our Junior Suite (403) which was large and luxurious, within three (3) separate and distinct parts. Part 1 of 3 was the initial entryway which opened up to a kitchen with a medium-sized refrigerator, a full-size microwave, a sink and numerous plates, cups and utensils. Part 2 of 3 was the large common area, in which the pull-out sofa was set-up, a closet, a long built-in desk, a few side chairs, a large wall-mounted LCD flat screen TV, two large windows with a view of Bern's Steakhouse in the foreground and Downtown Tampa in the background. Part 3 of 3, which consisted of an incredibly comfortable King-sized bed, a writing desk, a chest of drawers, a closet with a built-in electronic safe, another a large wall-mounted LCD flat screen TV, two more large window with the same view as in the common area and a HUGE bathroom which consisted of a marble sink with a large mirror, a huge shower with both a rain forest shower head as well as a handy sprayer shower head, a separate soaking tub and a small separate room for the toilet bowl. Our Junior Suite contained two (2) luxurious robes and thick and comfortable slippers. Both beds (including the pull-out sofa) were very comfortable and the housekeeping staff provided extra towels [all thick and soft], ample bath products and several bottles of complimentary still water each day. Further, the cleanliness of the room was exemplary and for this we want to recognize the entire housekeeping staff. The complimentary Wifi provided was excellent. See our eight (8) photos of our Junior Suite (403). As our Marriott Titanium amenity, we enjoyed a complete breakfast each morning at Élevage SoHo Kitchen & Bar. Highlights included the scratch-made, thick-cut bread, the challah french toast, the pancakes and the crispy thick-sliced bacon. The hotel provided complimentary coffee service every morning in the lobby, which was very much appreciated. We all left breakfast every morning bursting at the seams (in a good way)! Besides having breakfast every morning at Élevage SoHo Kitchen & Bar, we enjoyed a fantastic Sunday brunch on the date of our departure at Élevage SoHo Kitchen & Bar with a wide variety of breakfast and lunch items. The adults also enjoyed unique hand-crafted cocktails nightly at the rooftop lounge, EDGE Rooftop Cocktail Lounge, which was a perfect way to wind down each busy day. We enjoyed using the complimentary bicycles available to hotel guests to bike along Bayshore Boulevard as well as the Tampa Riverwalk as well as access to the large and well-equipped fitness center and the heated pool, all of which we enjoyed daily. Every team member with whom we came in contact, including Mr. Scott, Mr. Reltherford, Vanessa, Scotty, the rest of the front desk staff, the restaurant staff and the house-keeping staff really went out of their way to make our entire family (especially our two young daughters) feel welcomed. The extraordinary customer service that we received before and during our stay made this property an eleven out of ten in our book! Congratulations to Mr. Scott and Mr. Reltherford for assembling such a great team and leading them with a overriding goal of excellent customer service. We cannot wait to return, for which we have already booked two (2) future stays. You will be well served by selecting this luxury hotel for your base of operations in Hyde Park, South Tampa, Downtown Tampa and the greater Tampa Bay area. Rest assured, you will not be disappointed!

SCOTTY-'Da Man!!!

Scotty was Very Very accommodating during our short one-night stay! He "beamed us up" to our room and catered to every need. GIVE THE GUY A RAISE and/or PROMOTION!! Quite nice a place but quite pricey overall. Bern's Steakhouse was disappointing & VERY LOUD. My wife said it was like being in a middle school cafeteria during lunch hour. I guess we were expecting a more intimate atmosphere.
