Balcony Room is a Must

Rochester, NY

This is the third time we have stayed at this property - all times on points. We were pleased that the staff was able to upgrade us to a room with a balcony since this is so much better than without. On this visit we faced the bay vs. the marina and that was a good thing given the nearby massive construction project on that side of the hotel. We like this location because we can walk to many of the downtown restaurants in about 20 mins. The hotel is feeling a bit dated in spots but the rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. Like most places in Florida they charge a mandatory "resort fee". Given that we took advantage of the very nice pool area, the bikes (a bit beat up but OK for cruisers), and the kayaks. The recreation staff was very helpful and friendly. One tip to avoid the $15/night parking fee is to park on the street in front or the parking lot across the street. Especially easy to do on weekends and if you plan to be gone exploring during weekdays.

Sarasota sad

We were saddened by our first visit to Sarasota where we were put in a room at the Hyatt right next to an elevator that was being worked on from sunup to sundown all 4 days we were there. Each could even hear the loud drilling while showering! It was by far the worst vacation room ever!
