Fantastic

We have stayed twice at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and will be back! The rooms are lovely and comfortable. The first time we did not book a savanah room but was upgraded to a savannah room. My husband and I both got sick on the trip and the AKL saved our vacation. We were perfectly content to stay at the resort. The views of the animals is wonderful either from your balcony or other locations throughout the resort. Housekeeping was wonderful and the resort is quiet. There is always something going on in the lobby and other parts of the resort both indoors and outdoors for adults and children. There is a large fire pit outdoors. One evening we were sitting around with several other couples and an employee from Africa joined us and he was a wealth of information about his homeland. Of all the resorts we have stayed at in WDW, this resort has the absolute best food. The food court is amazing as is Boma's, Jiko and the Sanna. If you are looking for hamburgers and hot dogs, this is probably not the place for you. And, if you don't care for a lot of walking, you will not be happy here. (I have to add some negatives so people will not fill up this resort in hordes!). If you like to have a car to drive to the parks, you will again, experience a lot of walking from your room to your car. While we had an incredible experience staying at the Polynesian, I prefer the AKL. The service is top notch and the cast members here are the BEST.

London

Stayed here with my family (2 adults and 2 children) my little boy LOVES animals and it was his 10th bday so we thought we would treat him to a few nights in Animal Kingdom. We stayed at the beginning of September. Booking in was quick and easy and the man who booked us in was lovely, the porter was very friendly. We had paid for a view of the animals and we got to see mostly giraffes from our room - where else can you see animals like that from your room? The rooms are really needing updated, no USB charging points, the safe is so old its not even electronic, its a key with a hole in the wall.....wouldn't want to lose the key! The rooms are small....the bathroom even smaller! the sink is not in the bathroom. However the room is super clean. Kids loved the pool, sadly the day we were there the pool shut numerous times because of lightning in the area, safety first :) Would I stay here again? No, I don't think its worth its money, we paid A LOT for this room, more than any hotel that I have stayed at before, I know its close to the parks but honestly, its not worth it even with the view of the animals. Needs updating asap.
