A great fall from exceptional

Over the past 5 years I have routinely stayed at the Renaissance at Sea World in Orlando for 3 simple reasons: 1). Location - easy access to tollway and a simple drive from the airport 2). Beautifully remodeled ~5 years ago with wonderful rooms routinely available upon request 3). Very well trained staff who’s primary intent was to satisfy both tourists and business travelers Unfortunately, the only reason to stay here now is location as rooms have not aged well and staff unaware of property layout and not in powered to make decisions. I learned this today when I checked in today. This was a 57 minute affair with an offer of an “upgraded suite,” which was nothing more than a conference room with a Pullman bed. Said simply, what was portrayed as an upgrade was akin to a cheesy board room with a bed whose mattress was roughly equivalent to a pull-out sofa. I refused the room and am now have with a room with worn out carpet and a beautiful view of the roof and air conditioning system. To add to the fun, during the 57 minute check in process, the main restaurant/bar closed so the sushi I was looking forward for dinner became an impossibility. The bottom line is that this will be my last visit to the Renaissance at Sea World. It’s truly a shame to see what was once such a wonderful property turn into something more like Fairfield Inn. Although in fairness l stayed at a Fairfield recently that had nicer rooms. My guess is that the property’s primary challenge is reflective of poor management and training procedures. I hope the Renaissance at Sea World’s will take this feedback to heart. When you treat your best customers (Titanium Elite for Life here) worst AND the property is ~30% occupied, things can only get worse. If you’re planning a vacation, look into the World Center or Swan. The Renaissance at Sea World will simply disappoint. For business the JW is a shining star.

Nice hotel with plenty to do.

Langhorne, Pennsylvania

I was very unsure about booking this hotel but it turned out to be a pleasant stay. It is very convention oriented but it still works for families, especially if visiting seaworld. My family of four enjoyed many amenities from the pool, the starbucks, the ice cream shop, the TVs in the lobby to watch the playoffs, and much more. The view of the atrium was beautiful. The rooms are standard and a little dated but clean. We especially enjoyed the breakfast buffet. It was honestly the best breakfast we all ever had and was displayed beautifully. The natural honey, the juice bar, & the chicken sausage are not too be missed. Don’t forget to take advantage of all the sea world perks they offer.
