BEWARE OF MOLD!! The entire place stinks of it! We took pictures of the filth and mold(waiting for the tests to come back, but just look for yourselves) This post is to inform upcoming guests at the lack of attention and maintenance here. My wife and I came here for 10 days to get married and it has been the worst experience of our lives. The amount of filth, dust, mold in the room and under the glass table tops was enough to make us sick to our stomachs. When we complained(after getting transferred and waiting for anyone to show up at our room) they brought us a $13 champagne. Be prepared for your room service to arrive cold. We ordered a chicken tender basket, shrimp cocktail (with no cocktail sauce) and a coke which arrived over an hour after ordering, COLD. This cold meal cost me $74 (for what, might I ask?) I had a special package delivered at 10:34am and didnt recieve it until after 4pm after I called the front deck myself and was told I could come get it myself. This felt like staying at a Motel 6 on the beach. We paid for one of the most expensive rooms there(698/night+BS charges) Room linens are stored outside under an open stairwell, which has resulted in my wife and I getting bites on our bodies. If you want to feel clean, sleep through the night on a comfortable mattress in a quiet room and be treated with respect and courtesy, DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Also, hope you're not disabled because none of the elevators work and from the reviews they havent in years! As they have continued to transfer and even go as far as hang up on me, I'm sure this will sadly only get an automated message saying how sorry they are to hear about this and to private message them, well we have and have heard nothing back. Apparently the locals know all about the mold problem here. Now the public does too. JOHN TROVATO, the managing director, needs to be informed of his disgraceful hotel. Also I would add more pictures but it won’t let me

Five star? They've got to be kidding!

Winston Salem, North Carolina

Okay, for starters, check-in was a breeze until we walked down the dark, dingy hallway and found a small, shabby, dilapidated room, with peeling furniture and a view out to the street. Top that with the fact that we could hear our next door neighbors' conversation clearly even though they were talking in normal conversational tones. When we went back to the desk and requested another room, we were flatly denied, first by the check-in person and then by the manager whom we asked to talk to. He said all the other rooms in our "class" (obviously, shabby-class) were either occupied or promised. And to make it even worse, we were with a meeting group and the organizers were told when they checked the place out a year ago that all the rooms would be completely renovated by the time of our meeting, so they set the convention room rate at $479/night for a "garden" view and $550/night for an ocean view. And of course it turned out that they decided not to renovate this hotel now but to renovate another one and put this one on hold. So we paid $479 a night for a room that I wouldn't pay $175 for in a hotel along I-95. In addition, on our last full day there the room wasn't cleaned except for making the bed and emptying the trash. The carpet wasn't vacuumed and the sink and toilet were not cleaned. That said, though, the hotel facilities are nice, the staff were mostly very attentive and thoughtul, the food generally was pretty good (except the house wine is undrinkable), and the location is beautiful. But 5 stars is definitely way too high a rating for this place. Save your money and go to one of the other resorts in Key West or one of its many charming B&Bs and small hotels.
