Clean room, nice view, good location, professional staff, great communication before a hurricane

We stayed here to attend a conference Sept. 2017, but hurricane Irma took a sudden turn and headed for the Gulf. Unfortunately, a few hours after we checked in, we had to evacuate the hotel the next morning. The staff were in constant communication with us through flyers and phone calls, so we knew exactly what was happening. Despite that, overall experience was good. The hotel is on the beach, with secured access to the pool and grounds. The beach area was clean and large, with plenty of room to lay down your towels or chairs. It's a quick walk to the long pier as well. Many restaurants were closed due to the pending evacuation, but we could see there was enough within walking distance to visit. The 1-King room was spacious, clean and very modern. The large desk space made it easy to work. WiFi was great the whole time. The bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows. Linens were clean and warm enough. The bathroom wasn't large, but there was enough counter space for our items. There were enough large clean towels and the water pressure was great. We only had a stand up shower in the bathroom, but that was fine. Gotta love the upgraded Peter Thomas Roth amenities! Always a nice touch. Only odd thing was the bathroom door. We've been seeing this in more beach resort hotels and not sure why they're opting for this. Check out the photo, but you'll see the bathroom door SLIDES. It does not close completely like a normal door, so there's always a small sliver of area that you can see inside the bathroom. It was a bit awkward, but we made it work. The balcony had two chairs which made it nice to sit out and relax. It was a great view of the ocean and pool area. The hotel wasn't super quiet, but we had a good night's sleep. The next morning, they were very adamant about evacuating the hotel early. The check out process was efficient, but of course a little hairy since so many people were leaving at the same time. I'd stay here again.

Great hotel!

Chicago, Illinois

Loved my weekend stay at this hotel. Can’t beat the location on the beach and my gulf view room was amazing. Really enjoyed the view waking up and drinks on the balcony with the sunset can’t be beat. The location right along the strips of bars and shops was great also along with the Starbucks in the hotel. Such convenience was the highlight of the stay.
