Short but sweet visit

South Bend, Indiana

My husband and I stayed at the Waldorf Astoria last night while seeing a Cubs Game. I used a rewards night but still got upgraded to a deluxe king rather than a standard room. The room was very spacious with a seating area and gas fireplace as well. I would definitely take advantage of it in cooler weather. The bathroom was large, and decorated with marble. I appreciated the deep soaking tub which was separate from the shower. The bed and bedding were great, but I didn't doubt for a moment that they would be. The staff was polite, and texted me when my room was available. I wish I could say more about the place, but I didn't have a chance to visit the spa or restaurant. We were only in town for a brief trip. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

the reinvention of the WALDORF brand continues to dazzle...

from the the moment you arrive in the private courtyard you feel like you're living the luxe life, but you're paying for it. our chic junior suite with fireplace had views in the distance of LAKE MICHIGAN. the staff was very attentive. breakfast was not included, but as a diamond member we were given a small credit for coffee in the cafe. turning lemons into lemonade, it was a great excuse to try TEMPO CAFE around the corner, and indulge in some inexpensive and delicious "whole pan" omelettes for a hearty brunch. it's an expensive place to stay with not many amenities, but was very comfortable and stylish so a good choice if your budget allows.
