Winter Fun

Florence, Oregon

It was actually a few years since we have stayed there but we will be back before too long. The lodge is beautiful and the rooms are nice, just no balcony and we were there in the winter so the rooms that had a patio had snow up to the roof...no way to get out onto the patio. They had a horse drawn carriage ride that was a hug plus, really fun, I even got to feed one of the horses snow. They have a hill for the kids to slide down in their sleds, great for families. And the adults have a nice bar to warm up with kicked up coffee. We had a power outage when we were there that seemed not very organized, it was so dark we couldn't see anything and there wasn't any emergency lights that came on, not even in the hallways, but we survived. Overall it was a fun trip and it was a great winter vacation.

Great place - unfortunately overpriced

Newcastle, Australia

Most of the staff were fantastic and friendly. We booked into the cabins which were nice and great to refresh ourselves for the walk to the lodge. The lodge was great and the food offerings and leisure options fantastic, however most definitely soured by the rudeness of the younger concierge. I was also expecting a lot more, particularly what we paid for. The outdoor fireplaces were nice and good way to meet people. The general store down the road is a must visit, even if for just a chat.
