Glass Beach California

Sea glass treasure

Take a stroll along one of northern California's intriguing beaches; where the sand is covered in colourful glass pebbles. Located in Fort Bragg, 3 hours north of San Francisco, this now beautfil beach has an interesting story. Once a dumping site, the broken bottles and disgarded glass have been washed up and down by the pounding waves to create these now smooth, smaller pieces of sea glass. Hunt for the rare red sea glass, but visitors are asked to leave these little treasures where you find them so the glass beach can continue to entice visitors. Explore trails along the clifftop, hunt for marine life in the rock pools and there are often sea lions playing in the waters off shore. Glass beach is one of California's extradorinary finds.
