California Coastal Chic Hotel

Right on the Pacific ocean, with the Marina on your doorstep, the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Resort & Spa has just had a fantastic 5 million transformation. It's a coastal oasis in the heart of the Mission Bay area - rooms are stylish and modern with great views of the city or ocean. Close to Seaworld(R) and the San Diego Zoo the kids will love their days out but there's so much onsite as well to make the msot of this marina side location. San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter is a short drive away, and you can take in the gorgeous vistas as you stroll along the beachfront boardwalk. <br />

One of my top favorite hotels, hands down

Los Angeles

I've always avoided Mission Bay because I always incorporate it with Sea World; which is a family-friendly resort; and as an older couple with no kids, we try to stay away from it. This hotel speaks very well to me. The lobby, furniture and aesthetic is how I'd want to design my beach hotel if I ever own one. The view is amazing; overlooking the Mission Bay with all the water sports and the boats and bridges and the beautiful homes smack dab in front of you. The amenities were great; the pool had a free kid-friendly movie, and then there's the fire pit until 9pm, the pool and spa closes I believe around 10, and it was a perfect summer night. The lobby area is a fairly good size for the hotel, and my favorite is the beach front gym. Parking is always my pet peeve at $30, but it's not unreasonable for a tourist spot. Do not park on the street overnight, for they will tow you. Pay the parking fee, it's worth the peace of mind. Better yet, Uber here and everywhere. We Uber'ed to the local brewery nearby, and just chilled. There's also a pool slide, which I was disappointed to not be able to use due to time. The coffee shop do offer Starbucks, and there's a full-service restaurant in the hotel proper. Also, I liked the fact that there are family-friendly suites next door, so I'd likely check that out another time. There was a great wedding sport in front of the grounds, and there's a wedding hall a few hundred yards away, but it's not in your face, so it's far enough from the hotel. Simply amazing hotel. I loved staying there.

Great location, snotty workers

San Diego, California

I've stayed at this hotel many times and for some reason every time the front desk screws something up. And after you address the problem with them that THEY messed up, they make you feel like it was your fault. Very bad start to our vacation and inconsiderate employees. Good location for San Diego but I am sure there is a much better hotel out there that will be a much more pleasant experience.
