Los Angeles Beaches

Sun, Sea & Surf In L.A

Los Angeles' beaches are celebrities themselves, having starred in BaywatchThe OC, and Jerry Maguire just for starters. Each stretch of sand has its own unique identity, from uber-rich to more laid-back. Head to Venice Beach for the art galleries and boardwalk, check out the beautiful people (and rolling film cameras) at Manhattan Beach, surf the waves in upscalle Malibu, or ride the Ferris wheel on the pier at Santa Monica Beach.

Family Fun - Venice Beach

Look for Harry Perry, a famed; guitar playing rollerblader of Venice Beach and be entertained by bodybuilders, acrobats, jugglers and street performers. Ride the Ferris wheel at Santa Monica Pier, play a game of volleyball, go boardysurfing or take a bike ride along the classic stretch of Santa Monica's bike path.

Surfing - Surfrider Beach

Check out the cool vibe at Surfrider Beach in Malibu, where the waves roll in and begin to curl near the shore and surfers are seen furiously paddling to catch those perfect waves. Whether you are learning for the first time, experienced or simply want to sit back and spectate, there are some great surfing options in L.A. Venice Beach offers mellow rides that are perfect for beginners and expect big waves at Manhattan Beach, which is one of the best for surfing in winter.
