Recent rule change!!

We booked this hotel months ago and specifically picked this hotel for the waterslides. We actually would look at the waterslides and get excited for the trip. It was close to the beach as well so thought between the slides for the daughter and the beach for me it was a great spot. My daughter is a smaller 6 year old so I always make sure to check height restrictions before.  Unfortunately when we arrived (only last night) we found out that they had recently changed their height restrictions to 48".  There was a tiny slide that she could do but it was closed, and not much of a slide anyways.  There were a lot of kids there, none using the slides as most weren't tall enough.  We didn't see one person use the slides when we were there, we've been to lots of places with waterslides bigger than this (great wolf lodge) and the height is generally 42" (for non-extreme slides). It put a damper on the entire thing as the waterslides was the entire point of picking this hotel. I actually became a hyatt member because I thought we would come here often. We won't be coming here again. Great hotel for adults; the hotel is beautiful and the rooms are recently upgraded.  I wouldn't recommend this for families.

Always a GREAT visit at the HRHB

Our third visit and always a favourite stop on our holiday. Everything you need at the resort: pools with food/beverage service, spa, bike rentals, convenience store, Starbucks, restaurants, pizza take-out service around firepits, great balconies, easy access to beach, town and bike path to Newport/Balboa Island. Easy drive to Crystal Cove State Park for hikes, beach visits & shopping. Love, love, love this resort💕
