Staff are wonderful but hotel not my cup of tea

London, United Kingdom

It’s a bit of an odd hotel with an odd feel. It’s clean, it’s safe and friendly - but you can’t escape the old office building block feel. And the 70’s style shag carpets are so thick in the hallways that you can barely roll your luggage to your room. The bed is pretty much on a raised platform on the floor. It feels more meant for a party than a business trip. Interesting for sure.

Just Awful

Genuinely the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. A Motel 6 would have been better. The staff was cold and unhelpful. The rooms are terribly designed with no decor whatsoever. Why is the shower in the middle of the room with a full length mirror on the open side? This isn't a "love motel". The iron didn't work, and the ironing board is microscopic. The shower wouldn't stay one temperature. All supplies including bathroom cups and tissues are hidden away in closets (aka cubbies with a sheet pulled in front of them). The bed is sitting only 6" off the floor with a platform that sticks out two feet with the exact same color carpet as the floor. Smashed my toes on that more than once. The hotel bar drinks are tremendously overpriced with poor service, and they wouldn't let me wear flip flops to the pool after 7:00 because of their ridiculous dress code. Not being able to be comfortable at after a long day of work was unpleasant to say the least.
