2 night layover in LA

Fort Myers, Florida

My husband and I stayed 2 nights after flying back from Bora Bora/Tahiti. We had 1 full day to explore LA. We pulled up to the hotel and decided to do self parking, because the valet line was pretty long. We later learned that valet and self parking are the same price, so after that we did valet the rest of the trip! Check in was quick and easy, our room as nice, clean, comfortable bed, nothing fancy...your typical Hilton. We didn't spend much time at the hotel, so i really can't say much about the amenities. But all the staff that we encountered were very nice and willing to help with whatever you needed. The valet knew us by name and what car we were driving after the first night...and they always had 2 free bottles of water waiting for us in the car, which was a nice touch! the location was great, we were able to get to the Hollywood strip, the Hollywood sign, Rodeo Drive and even over to the Santa Monica pier to watch the sunset, all in one day!! We would definitely stay here again.

Truckee, California

We stayed at the Beverly Hilton for an awards event. I guess it rides on the fact that it’s the hotel of choice for these things. The room we stayed in was over in the Oasis side and was old and worn - from a threadbare arm chair to a desk chair missing both its arms to a beaten up standing lamp it was just not what we expected. We had drinks in the bar that were sub par for the price so meant we headed over to another hotel for a drink on our second night. To cap it off Housekeeping start banging on the door at 9am on Sunday morning (our check out day) and woke us -we have a son and were hoping for a lie in that we rarely get these days. We intend on staying elsewhere next time around.
