Underrated Disney hotel!

Orlando, Florida

I had heard mixed reviews of Paradise Pier but I was more than happy with our stay there in September! It was perfect for me and my friends for our 4 days in Disneyland. It’s walking distance from the parks (maybe even closer than the Disneyland hotel) and the room was just what we needed. Perhaps a bit overpriced for what it is considering the amount of other hotels in the area, but we liked it for the Disney theming and extra magic hours of course! Probably my least favorite of the 3 Disney on site hotels but by no means is it bad - it met all my expectations and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

Exceeded our expectations

Sydney, Australia

This was our third visit to Disneyland with our kids and we usually stay in the Grand Californian but couldn't get the room we wanted so we thought we would give the Paradise Pier a go. It's a cheaper option so we weren't sure what to expect but we could not have been happier. Although it lacks to Craftsman style of the Grand Californian our beach themed room was comfortable, clean and had a fabulous view of the Californian Adventure Park which at night was simply spectacular. We opted for a Premium View Club Level room which meant we had access to the Beach Comber Club on the second level. It is open from 6.30am until 8pm every day with unlimited food and drinks (the food varies from breakfast, snacks, sweet treats depending on the time of day) so it's a great way to grab breakfast before you hit the parks and a wonderful spot to unwind and relax if you need a break. Every cast member (hotel staff) we encountered in the hotel was fabulous and nothing was too much trouble. Even when our son left his brand new Mickey hat on the Haunted Mansion ride they went out of their way try and find it for him. Breakfast with Donald Duck and friends at the PCG Grill was also highlight for us & even though our kids are teenagers they loved interacting with the characters. We also ate here for dinner a couple of times as we found it was a lovely refuge away from some of the noisier restaurants in other Disneyland Hotels. We loved the fact it was not full of noisy screaming children. The hotel also has a fabulous view of the fireworks from the pool area so if you don't want to stay in the park with the crowds this is a great alternative. The only downside and it's really only a small thing is that it is furtherest hotel from the parks entry and there tends to be a long queue at the security check into Downtown Disney in the mornings so be prepared to walk just that little bit further and you may have to wait at the security check so allow extra time if you want to maximise your extra Magic hours. We had a fabulous week at the Paradise Pier and would definitely stay here again.
