Horrible experience

Irvine, California

We stayed at this property every year. However this year it was horrible. When we arrived at check in specifically advised that I am allergic to feathers. My reservation that i booked through the app also had the same notes in it. We arrived at 10 and our room was not ready. Instead they wanted us to pay extra for a different room.I specifically spoke to the front desk to have it ready and she said that they are already in the room. Upon arriving at the room the room was not defeathered spoke to the front desk and guest hotline for about 4 times before they arrived at our room at almost midnight. The room attendant didnt check all pillows and left a feather pillow in our room. Complained with front desk it did not get addressed in the morning I asked the nice cleaning lady to vaccuum and grab the feathered pillow. Still no call from Manager. The next night, the nextdoor neighbor were at the balcony were very noisy. We called security as well as the front desk manager about 5 times. The issue was not resolved until 12:38 in the morning. Tried to call in the morning to talk to manager we did not receive a call back.

Very solid ...but not what it should be

Laguna Beach, California

Spent the night here in the middle of summer. 116 degrees but the place was 100% sold-out. Tough to find parking or a shady spot at any of the pools. Long lines at check in. Standards did seem to be stretched ..plates and cups left uncleared, towels scattered around the pools, debris in the pools. One thing to note. Our neighbors brought their dog to the hotel and left it locked up for hours. It was barking all the time. We called security at midnight who said the dog was not registered and they would have to pay a fine [FYI dog-owners] They tried to find us another room but there were none available. Really impacted an otherwise decent stay. Staff should be commended for the great job they did managing the large number of guests. Shot-out to Alex on the front desk who was charming, welcoming, friendly and helpful. May not be five stars but it is still one of my favorite places to visit.
