Itinerary Breakdown

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by your guide and taken to your hotel situated in Kampala. Your guide will be with you throughout your stay in Uganda and your evening meal at the hotel is available in the hotel up until 22:00pm.

This morning make your way to Jinja, one of Uganda’s largest towns; a colonial manufacturing hub and also where the Nile River starts its journey to the Mediterranean Sea. En route you will stop at Mabira the country’s biggest forest reserve and home to many primates and birds. Track the rare Mangabeys then continue to Jinja. After lunch take a short boat ride to visit the source of the River Nile.

today spend an exhilarating day in East Africa’s adventure capital. Feel free to choose morning and afternoon activities: kayak or raft the Nile with your instructor through the rapids or in calmer water for half/full day. Explore the local villages and countryside enjoying the scenery and views over the river, or calmly enjoy a sunset boat cruise on the Nile.

Enjoy the spectacular views as you drive to Sipi falls (approx. 4-5 hours), take in the sights and chat to the locals along the way. Later, visit a local coffee farm: this is one of the best known areas in Africa for growing Arabica coffee. Learn about the coffee farming and, when you return to the lodge, participate in a coffee processing experience, ‘from garden to cup’. In the evening, enjoy breath-taking views over the Karimoja plains as the sun goes down.

Sipi has 3 waterfalls: upper, middle and lower. Choose your hike, from a couple of hours to a full day visiting all 3 falls and passing through the local communities along the way. The views are outstanding and its great fun getting wet! If you choose a shorter hike, you are free to relax back at the lodge afterwards and perhaps enjoy the birds in the gardens or opt for abseiling down the 100m falls - a thrilling experience (option extra bookable locally).

Transfer to Moroto (approx. 4 hours) for two days of experiential activities with the Karamojong – one of Uganda’s indigenous cattle-keeping tribes. Participate in the daily activities of village life like cooking, harvesting and shooting with bow and arrow while chatting with your welcoming local hosts who have a wealth of knowledge of the area. Then, enjoy a simple evening meal in the camp and spend your first night under canvas.

This morning, your adventure continues with a culture and nature tour starting with an early morning walk through the Mt Moroto valley. Choose this afternoon from workshops on beading, wood carving, basket weaving, hat weaving, bee keeping, gold-mining, clay sculpting or, if you prefer, take a bicycle tour of this fascinating area with beautiful scenery and bird life all around this is also a possibility. Tonight will be your final night spend under canvas.

Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park, known as Africa’s true wilderness (approx. 5 hours). On arrival take a two hour guided safari walk in this stunningly beautiful park to get closer to the animals including zebra, eland, impala and many other antelope in their natural habitat. Relax for the evening in this very special lodge and enjoy the spectacular scenery of Kidepo, a true highlight of your journey.

An early start this morning at 07:00am, waking up to stunning views across the savannah plains and get ready for a game drive exploring the savannah stretches of Kidepo. This National Park boasts of some the largest herds of buffalos in East Africa, other likely encounters include, zebras, oribi, lion and, on a lucky day a leopard! In the afternoon, visit the northern sector, home to many bird species including the Common Ostrich and take a game drive towards the stunning Kidepo sand river.

Travel to Murchison Falls national park (approx. 6 hours) pausing in Gulu, an ancient slave trading town, full of history. The scenery en route is beautiful and after a lunch stop, continue into Murchison Falls National Park enjoying the game along the way. Take the ferry across the River Nile and check-in to your lovely lodge on the banks of the river.

Your day starts with a 7:00am ferry crossing over the river for a game drive in the cool of the morning, this is when the animals are at their most active. Search for lions, elephants, buffalo, giraffe, antelope and tropical birds. Return to your lodge for lunch and then drive to the top of the falls for spectacular views, hike down to the river where a boat will be waiting to take you on a cruise further downstream to the lodge. Enjoy the wildlife on the river banks as you go.

After a lazy start, spend your last morning at leisure at the lodge or choose to have another game drive, then return to the lodge and prepare for your flight to Entebbe at 13:15pm. If time allows, before your onward flight home or to another destination a guide can take you into Entebbe town for refreshments, souvenir shopping and some down time overlooking Lake Victoria.
