Excellent stay... full review

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Stayed 3 days 2 nights. Booked via booking.com. Checkin was quick. Full amount was charged at checkin. We got 2hrs early checkin and late checkout without any hassle. At checkin we were asked if an additional amount needs to be deposited against my booking to pay for extra charges like meals.. which you can agree or decline. If you agree then any meals not included in your package will get deducted from your deposit amount. If not then you can simply pay at the restaurant. If you did make a deposit and there’s a balance left you will get it back refunded at checkout. Some people get confused with this payment option. Rooms - We booked a Deluxe king room with balcony and view on 4th floor. Enough room for a small family of 3-4. There’s a view of the marina as well as the track. When cars are practicing on track there is no escaping the noise in whatever room you stay.. and they do race till around 10-11pm most days. The noise from the nearby airport flights is negligible when you are inside the room. Our Room was located in the main building where all the restaurants are located on the ground floor and the family pool is located on the 9th floor. Other part of the building is connected from the 2nd floor with a short walkway... it’s not far at all maybe about 100meters walk. On that part of the building is the adult pool on 8th floor, spa and gym facing the marina on ground floor and kids club on 7th floor. Within rooms it would have been better to have more flexibility with the lighting. For example there is only one master switch on/off for the bathroom which has 3 sections for bath, washroom, toilet. Either all the lights go on or off. In the tv channels there is only 1 kids channel which is a shame. Pools - adult pool has a pool bar. less noise here since no shouting kids. The pool is about the same as the family pool. However in the family pool (1m to 1.4m height) area you also have a separate smaller baby’s pool about 1feet height. As expected with families family pool area gets noisy in the evenings. Mornings are usually less crowded. Plenty of pool towels and sun loungers with very attentive staff providing free lollies and water. Prasanjith at the adult pool was very helpful. Restaurants - Italian restaurant was nice. Main courses were great. Prices average about 100-120. Chocolate cake dessert was a bit over priced at 50 for a smaller portion. Indian restaurant is only open for dinner and also closed mondays so we missed it. Origins the main buffet restaurant has a limited but adequate spread for lunch and dinner. None of the dishes really blew our minds. Its average buffet fare. Would have preferred some spicy food options especially catering to Asian taste buds. Too much blandness by the end of the 3rd day. Breakfast options were better. We used entertainer buy 1 get 1 vouchers for lunch and dinner meals which helped add value for money. Staff was helpful especially Prasanna at Origins who really stood out inquiring about our baby’s needs and being very attentive. Hotel design - you would have seen the pictures already! I’m not a fan tho.. really couldn’t figure out the Led lights design. For me it greatly obstructed the views! Maybe it’s just a fancy design or maybe it also covers up the hotel rooms from a possible flying car crash. Anyway a lot of the lights in the facade were either switched off or didnt function ending up in a less than appealing design at night. Kids club area is open from 11am-8pm. It has plenty of activities and space for self play. Kids over 5 you can leave on their own else need guidance from parents. The hotel premises has plenty of space and lounge areas which is a great plus. One thing to keep in mind about the noise is that you are looking at a hotel which is on top of a F1 race track so you really reallllly aren't getting a noiseless environment.
