Wonderful Wildlife

Due to being 600 miles from the nearest land, there are few species that live in the Galapagos Islands yet despite this low biodiversity, the animals and birds that do live here are truly wonderful.

Sea lions, sperm whales and dolphins inhabit the choppy waters that surround the islands, while reptiles such as giant tortoises, iguanas, snakes and lava lizards roam the rocky landscapes. If you're a keen birdwatcher, you can expect to spot species such as vampire finches, yellow warblers and ospreys, as well as sea birds like pelicans, penguins and albatross.
