Exclusive Boutique Resort on Secluded Island

The Naka Island is an exclusive resort on Naka Yai Island, located just off the Phuket coast, accessible only by speedboat.  This boutique resort is a peaceful hideaway where you can spend time alone, or join in with one of the complimentary classes that take place each day.

The pool villas are positioned for upmost privacy. The bathroom or rather, the outdoor bath is the pièce de résistance. A covered walkway edged with tropical plants leads out of the bedroom, through to the shower (which also turns into a private steam room at the click of the button) outside and to the sunken bath. Tucked into its own sheltered alcove with in-built shelves for candles at night, it’s quite possibly the most romantic and relaxing bathing experience you’ll ever have.

Wellness is taken to a new, enticing level with offerings such as a fitness centre in natural jungle surroundings, meditation on a small islet, and boot camp sessions on the beach.

With three dining options available, you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to what to eat – but all three come with amazing panoramic seaview’s.

  • Secluded Island but only 5 minutes by speedboat to Phuket
  • Lots of watersports and excursions
  • Extensive Spa with signature treatments.
  • Stunning sunset dining

Rough Start

Arrival- speedboat arrival was quick and the staff was extremely friendly. He told the office manager it was our honeymoon and to do something nice for us. We were welcomed with cold towels, a drink and gong hit. The office manager that drove us around the resort was very friendly. Seaside Pool Villa - We were blown away by the view of our villa and how nice it was inside. While the staff was taking down our info, the pool staff was in the backyard. When the staff left we decided we wanted to take a dip in the pool but quickly decided not to after we saw it was green, filled with algae and was filthy. When I called the front desk, a man answered and told me that our pool pump was broken and it could take a few hours to start working so in the meantime he said that we should go use he main pool of the resort. ( main pool would be fine if we didn’t pay for the “luxury” seaside pool villa). They sent a complimentary bottle of sparking wine quickly (1:00pm). We eventually called and asked for a new room since our pool was broken. We were told that a room wouldn’t be ready for us til around 3:00pm because that’s when check-in is. This is understandable, however the resort seemed to be empty and we couldn’t figure out why they had no sense of concern or urgency since this a 5 star luxury resort and they knew we were celebrating our honeymoon. New Seaside Villa- 2.5 hours later (3:30pm), since we didn’t hear back, we had to walk to front desk ourselves. We were finally brought to a new villa which was more of a tropical view than a sea view. The pool seemed to be clean and in working order, but honestly it felt like a downgrade. Also, WE DIDN’T HAVE OUR LUGGAGE STILL, after they told us our luggage would be waiting. I called back and expressed our disappointment but nothing was done. I called back a second time because it was very frustrating and unacceptable. Finally the office manager came herself to pick us up in the resort buggie and gave us an option of two villas to choose from. The next one we saw was immensely better. We then asked where our luggage was and she was shocked that we didn’t have it (after being here for about 5 hours). A different office manager sent us another complimentary bottle of sparking wine, which was very kind. Food- breakfast buffet was what you’d except it to be. Staff was very friendly. Dinner- Dinner menu was nothing special, especially when they said they didn’t have anymore lobster or beef tenderloin (our dinner was at 6pm). The mushroom risotto and Australian wagyu was pretty good tho. After that dinner we decided to just order in, which had a lot of options. Overall they have 2 restaurants on site that are right next to each other. General Manager- The general manager came up to us at breakfast the next day to make sure that everything worked out. Later that day i personally asked him if there’s anything special that he could do at dinner for my wife. Not only did he give us a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine but he had 10% taken off our dinner bill. We really looked forward to ending our two week honeymoon at this resort. This resort definitely needs a lot of work and is not comparable to other luxury 5 star resorts. I would give it a 3 out of 5. If it wasn’t for our private seaside pool villa it would have been a complete disappointment. If you are looking for a luxurious honeymoon spot, you might want to look elsewhere. The only upside is the views and seclusion.

OK but not great

It's an okay hotel but not really "luxury" or worth big bucks... I'm here for a company meeting and while the meeting went well, the other aspects of the service or resort features were mediocre. It's not terrible but not great either. On a scale of 1-10, I rate this a 3/10. Arrival experience - almost good. Management greeted us and made us feel welcome. Cold towels, welcome drink, banging the gong, all good until we come to the baggage. The bags took so long to be delivered into the room, I almost had to go into my meeting smelling like sweat and armpits in my gym clothes. Had to make two phone calls asking them to please rush because the meeting is in 20 minutes. This kind of service is just unacceptable for people who conduct meetings here, given that there is the word "luxury" in the hotel name. Breakfast - limited selection...there are better spreads out there in five-star resorts that are around the same price range. The girl on the noodle and egg station was completely overwhelmed and confused despite serving on two guests. Took forever to get my noodle. She should tell me to wait for a moment while she tends to the eggs but instead she just leaves me hanging while she tended to another guest who requested eggs. "One moment" or "five minutes please" would've sufficed, instead she was just all over the place and overwhelmed by two requests. Food - it's a hit or miss. The expensive fish dishes (THB 900+) had ugly presentation. It looked like a dish you can get for THB 200 from a local Thai place nearby. The next day I had soft shell crab with black pepper sauce and that one was really good (although a friend said it was really salty the night before). Villa - the villa condition is okay, but a bit aged, but still nice. There are no tissues in the living area, only in the bathroom...there should be a napkin or tissue box somewhere. The only strange thing is when male staff came into the room to place mosquito killers at 10 pm. I mean, 10 pm? Why not find a way to do this without ringing the bell at 10 pm. Facilities - the bathroom in the meetings room is old and can break. A co-worker used the toilet and it broke (unable to flush). The roof leaks when it's raining. The water glasses aren't cleared or refreshed after lunch/breaks. The restaurant - bathroom roof is leaking. Restaurant service - almost okay. The Thai waiters are great and courteous, respectful. I didn't like the expat restaurant guy though, because his demeanor was not at all calm or appropriate for this setting. He was coarse and curt throughout, like a military drill sergeant. I wanted to order dessert but decided not to. In this setting, the staff should be more graceful and gentle instead of rough around the edges - it's just not relaxing and quite off-putting. Overall, it can be great if they just upgrade the facilities and train the staff to deliver satisfactory services fit for a "luxury" property.
