Climb the 306 step staircase that leads to the impressive Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, or hop on the lift and enjoy the fantastic views over Chiang Mai.

Itinerary Breakdown

Start your Northern Thailand adventure with two nights in vibrant Chiang Mai. 

Visit the old city of Chiang Mai with its Buddhist temples such as the impressive Wat Chedi Luang and the gilded Doi Suthep Temple, overlooking the city from nearby Mt. Suthep. 

In the evening head to one of the night markets to pick up a bargain.

Hidden Wonders of the North ecorted tour

Day 1 - Leave Chiang Mai behind as you head to explore more of Northern Thailand.

Your first stop will be a visit to the Baan Muang Goong Pottery Village where you can witness the skill of the local craftsmen before moving on to the ancient city of Wiang Tha Kan. 

End your day by admiring the Op Luang National Park before heading west to Mae Sariang where you will spend the night.

Day 2 - This morning you will head over to Mae Hong Son, home to the twin Burmese-style temples of Wat Chong Kham and Wat Chong klang. Take a cruise along the Pai River to visit a local hill tribe village and in the evening catch the sunset at Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu.

Day 3 - Continue north to Pai, stopping on the way to visit the impressive limestone cave system of Tham Lot where you can take a guided tour of this natural wonder. See the colour murals which decorate the walls of the Yunnan Cultural Village and unwind at the Tha Pai Hot Springs before spending the night in Pai. Be sure to visit the walking street to taste some of the delicous items on sale at the street food stalls.

Wake up early to admire the sunrise view at Wat Mae Yen before returning for breakfast at the Phu Pai Art Resort and your onward journey to Chiang Rai.

While in Chiang Rai take some time to explore the beautiful surrounding hillside area or take a cruise along the Kok River. Visit the impressive temples of Wat Rong Kun - the White Temple and Wat Rong Suea Ten - the Blue Temple, these contrasting temples are home to some spectacular art work and indeed the temples themselves truly stunning.
