On the western side of the country, in the Andaman Sea, lies Thailand’s largest island, Phuket. The white sand beaches are pristine, the bright blue waters are invitingly warm and the diving attractions are plenty. Take the time to visit Phang Nga Bay, where colossal limestone cliffs tower over the shiny waters and create a stunning vision.

Take a wander through Phuket Town and absorb the intriguing cultural and colonial combinations at every turn. Here you can discover architectural influences from Chinese, Indian, Arab and Portuguese traders in the houses and cafés.

Step away from relaxing days on the spectacular beaches and you’ll find a handful of beautiful waterfalls nestled within the tropical forests of the island. The island is also home to 29 intricately decorated temples. Discover grand red and gold ornate spires and majestic statues in Chalong, the healing temple.

Krabi Thailand

Quieter than Phuket, Krabi is a wonderfully diverse collection of islands, slowly becoming Thailand’s go to destination for a beach break. Peaceful beaches await among rugged jungles, laid back beach bars and sacred temples. Adventurers can brave the more challenging rock climbing and jungle trekking here with a four kilometre trek up the less travelled Ngorn Nak Mountain Trail. The climb is well worth it for the spectacular views of the sparkling ocean and luscious island below.

In the evenings, don’t miss the bustling Krabi Night Market (or Krabi Town Walking Street), where 50 stalls come to life selling everything from clothing items to sizzling street food to artisanal handcrafts.

And don’t forget the beaches. The island is home to some of the most beautiful waters in the country. Spend an entire morning discovering the stunning Krabi Emerald Pool - an aquamarine rainbow surrounded by tropical forests and wildlife sanctuaries.
