“Rayavadee in Krabi has one of the most romantic restaurants I have ever come across. The Grotto is located in an actual cave on the beach, and is lit by candlelight in the evenings – simply stunning.”

Honeymoon

This is the place to be if you want to go to Thailand. Even though it is a little pricey it is 100% worth the money. Arrival - you get picked up in a complimentary speedboat from the resorts personal pier. It is about a 15 minute boat ride in a luxurious boat. Once you arrive a staff member greets you with cold towels and a cold beverage. After he or she explains the entire resort grounds they take you to your villa where your luggage is already waiting for you. Villas - We got the deluxe pavilion villa (which is the cheapest option) and it was ridiculous, extremely nice inside. It is 2 floors with a bathroom on each floor. You have complimentary cookies, water, tea and coffee in your villa everyday. You can control the air conditioning on each floor, which to me is a huge plus. They also came to our villa with a complimentary bottle of sparking wine. Resort Grounds/Restaurants/Pool- All 4 restaurants that are all amazing to eat at. Not only is the food delicious but the staff remembers your names after just meeting you once. The workers at the pool are extremely friendly, they remembered our drinks of choice everyday. They also offer free kayaking and snorkeling if you wish to do so. The wildlife there was amazing as well, you see water monitors, monkeys and birds everywhere. The grounds were well kept and we enjoyed walking around the jungle. Breakfast- The Breakfast buffet was great and what you would expect from such a nice resort. Staff members that stood out to us and went above and beyond: “Charlie” - He checked us in and went over the grounds with us. He was so friendly and always had a smile on his face when we saw him. Charlie wasn’t his real name but what he told us to call him. Bee - He worked at the pool and was extremely helpful with us everyday. He remembered our drinks that we kept choosing. He also took sometime to talk and get to know us, made us feel very welcomed. Mon - Mon was by far our favorite employee at the resort, which is saying a lot because everyone was so friendly. She works at the Thai restaurant, Krua Phranang. We intentionally went back to this restaurant more than once, not only because of the unbelievable views but because of Mon. Again, she knew our names, knew how spicy we liked food and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. She even drew us a personal picture on our last night there. Overall I would give Rayavadee a 10/10, A++++. If we ever make it back to Thailand we will definitely be going back.

Amazing!

London, United Kingdom

My wife, 4 children (ages 13 through 8) and I stayed at Rayavadee for 2 nights in August. Honestly, the hotel was fabulous. We had two of the villas - they were round (very cool), set in a beautiful estate, and were furnished immaculately. The up and downstairs were cool - living room downstairs was great for watching TV and chilling, bedroom upstairs was really calm and lovely. The kids were able to use the bed setup in the living room at night. The service was impeccable and you have a choice of different restaurants. Breakfast buffet was outstanding, we loved it. We were also able to walk into the small local village for drinks and food - just 5-10 minutes down the beach. Pros - the hotel, service, pool, beach, rooms and - surprisingly - the shop which had some amazing things (jewellery, beach fashion, antiques). Cons - really only one: since the movie The Beach was filmed here, the public beaches are really exceptionally busy. Best to wait till sundown. Thing to do - we LOVED going up to the Emerald Lagoon on the hill above: you have a steep ascent (using some ropes) which gets the sweat glands working in the heat; great fun. All of us made it. Unfortunately the Lagoon was shut as some unfortunate tourist had taken a bad fall just before we got there, but the climb was still worth it. We wanted to stay longer and would stay here again, which I guess is praise enough!
