Complete lowdown on Paradise KohYao

Hopefully this will be a comprehensive lowdown on what to expect when heading to paradise KohYao. I was desperate for extra information before i went which didnt seem easy to find so here goes... Boat Transfer Takes about an hour and is good fun, was a bit choppy when we went but all adds to the adventure! Rooms We stayed in a standard garden room and it was amazing. Beds were incredibly comfy and air con was spot on. Our view was of jungle but was great. Bars There is a beach bar during the day that serves soft drinks and coktails and beers. as an idea a coke was 90bht and a cocktail 280bht but they did happy hours when selected drinks were cheaper. For example a change became 110bht for a can. Food You can get lunch at either the main restaurant or the beach bar or order to your room but why would you be in your room you are in paradise???!!! we never paid more than 1000bht for lunch including drinks and always left food the protions were so generous. In the evening they put different theme buffet nights on. we had that a couple of times but as we aren't massive eaters we found the normal menu and the portions they served were more than enough and worked out cheaper. cost wise we were buying a bottle of wine for 1000bht and our evening meals never came to more than 2500bht. not sure who the people are saying it's really expensive? yeah compared to a shack by the road somewhere but we thought to be on a beach on an island and to be eating 3 courses and a bottle of wine for less than £50 was very reasonable! cant please everyone i suppose. Spa The spa is amazing! the free vouchers are for specific things it says on it quite clearly what they are for. The manager was more than happy to swap ours with us which we were happy with. we swapped 90 minutes of beach side thai massage for an hour in the actual spa which bearing in mind the additional surroundings etc we thought was more than reasonable. Things to do There is so much to do. We were there 6 nights and had more than enough to do without leaving the resort. staying for longer you might want to venture out but there was lots of excursions. Staff the staff were amazing and really friendly, nothing was too much trouble. My only criticism/feedback would be to have one of the beach bar team walk the beach to take drink orders. or maybe a buzzer system or something. just to add to the luxury feel but it was hardly a hardship to have to get up and get a drink. we can't wait to go back

Difficult to find a better place all over the world. A real paradise, with the kindness of all the staff and a special mention for Julien. Incredible ile, incredible beach, incredible rooms, incredible people, incredible longtail boat tour, incredible massage and incredible thaï food. Please don t change anything. Hope we will be soon back in Paradise. Thanks for those wonderfull days.

I've taken a week to review Paradise Koh Yao, We had to remind ourselves not to have our expectations too high. We were welcomed well by Tina and going to our Jacuzzi Room, it was just too far to walk in the hot humidity with a recent knee op. We were told that we could call for a Golf Cart to collect and return, but knew that we would spend so much time waiting for this service as the Staff are always working very hard. We were pleased to move to a standard room and to be Honest the room felt more open and yes at times did make use of the Golf Buggy. We were also pleased to see that the Managers had stopped the Elephant Tours as we went last time, felt a real sense that we were providing the ability of abuse toward these Grand creatures. We bought a package deal and the value was excellent, but to be mindful that you will need to allow a good amount of spending money for your stay, some people chose to have a large breakfast and pass lunch so save money. Our view was to enjoy the setting of lunch of the beach front Restaurant and know that we were supporting the Local Village families with our contribution. meals were reasonably priced. Some changes that we noticed that we had filtered bottled water in our rooms in recycled glass bottles rather than the one use plastic's the Management was trying to be more ecco friendly. We were served the same water in the restaurant. But a little disappointed to see a contradiction of this with the Staff having their own meals and using sealed plastic bottled water for themselves. The pool needs some upgrading with the spa no longer working and the tattered beach Umbrella's needing to be replaced. There are pool lounges but other holiday makers need to be mindful to remove their belongings, when not using the area at all. This was quiet selfish. I think the DVD selection and quality of pirated DVD's could do with a massive upgrade, for a 4 star Hotel not a great example. The staff were very friendly. My Husband and I would personally like to express the quality of service from Tik serving in the Restaurant and Tina in reception for the high quality service they provided. We were glad to have a late check out especially with the Hot humidity and the fact we were travelling back to Melbourne Australia with a 10.30pm flight. It was a very long day and evening being delivered to the Phuket Airport and having to wait over 3 hours to just check in and then wait another several more hours to actually board, being a package deal with accommodation the night of arriving pre Island, it would be great if the travel agents could work something else at the other end of the holiday. I understand with the tides leaving the Island is difficult and all the flights out seem to be late. All in all we enjoyed our stay. We wish all the future guests a relaxing stay and thank the Paradise Koh Yao for having us a second time. P.S Take plenty of Mozzie protection especially in the wet season.

Sports & Entertainment

Explore the surrounding area with a tour and visit spectacular rock formations, unspoiled beaches, lagoons and caves. Tours also include jungle trekking and mountain bike rides as well as island hopping and village tours. A free beach shuttle runs to nearby islands whilst back at the resort speed boat rental and sea-canoes are available so that you can explore the near-by lagoons and beaches. Additional resort activities include beach volleyball, badminton, scuba diving and rock climbing.

Classes

Yoga and meditation classes are held daily in the resorts private beach sala overlooking beautiful Phang Nga bay. Here contemporary teachings are integrated with traditional yoga styles, allowing you the full experience of this beautiful art form.
