Hidden Gem in Peaceful location

The only way to reach this unusual hotel is by boat – as the resort actually floats on the river Kwai, surrounded by thick jungle. The location is peaceful and breathtakingly beautiful, and is wonderful retreat from the busy city of Bangkok.

Our 2 night / 3 day tour explores the best of the Kanchanburi area and The River Kwai with visits to the Thailand-Burma (Death Valley) Railway centre, War Cemetery, River Kwai Bridge, Hellfire pass memorial and Mon Tribal Village. There is plenty of opportunity to sit back and unwind in this unique setting. Maybe have an indulgent massage, enjoy the non-motorised water sports or simply read a book and listen to nature’s soundtrack.

Excellent hotel

Brighton and Hove, United Kingdom

We stayed here whilst on our River Kwai Adventure package which was also amazing. The hotel was stunning. Excellent food, service including a fantastic Thai massage. We loved every moment of our stay and would definitely recommend this floating hotel.

Staying on the River Kwai

Horsham, United Kingdom

We were taken by a long speedboat to The FloatHouse Hotel which was exciting in itself. On arrival the staff were very welcoming and we were given a drink and then they took us to our rooms which were amazing - the rooms were balanced on all I can explain as floats (long grey tubes) and whenever a boat went pass the whole room rocked. We had lunch and I had Seabass which was the biggest and tastiest Seabass I have ever had. Outside the room were a couple of chairs and a swing which I sat on for ages at different times of day and night to watch the river flow and listen to the jungle noises on the other side of the river. One of the staff acted as a guide and took us over a bamboo bridge into the jungle for a walk and he whistled to the birds and they whistled back. He took us to a Mon Village where the people live off the land and all their animals roam free, not chained up. We were shown a field with small pineapples growing in it and then suddenly out from the jungle came an elephant being ridden by one of the Mon people and we fed the elephant pineapples!
