Nice Property 4 1/2 stars

Princeton, New Jersey

Lots of positives to like about the resort. The Anantara is a beautiful property overlooking Laos and Myanmar in the Golden Triangle, the setting is outstanding and very serene. The service is excellent...very friendly, efficient and accomidating. The rooms are spacious, very clean and all have beautiful views. The areas that should improve to get to a 5 star resort: The food...while good it is not great, especially in the Italian restaurant. I”d have expected more from this property. Breakfast is the best. The fitness center is very average for a high end resort (small, limited equipment, hot)...more like a Marriott fitness center in the U.S.. WiFi by the pool is very spotty and the bikes to borrow onsite are all basically teen-sized bikes and not suitable for anyone over 5’10...should be more options (although not many places to ride other than on 2 lane highways). The property seems to be best suited for those that want a low-key, romantic getaway. Would be perfect for that. We were sold on the level of activities in the area which is really not accurate. There is really not a ton to do around the resort beyond 1-2 days of activities. The elephant experience onsite is unique but the towns nearby are not really worth visiting. I wish there were more hiking options in the area.

Another Amazing Visit

I just recently completed my third visit to Anantara Golden Triangle. It is a magical place with extraordinary staff, food, and activities that include your choices of wonderful experiences with elephants, a beautiful fitness facility, spa, cooking class, beautiful grounds to explore, a swimming pool with a view to take your breath away, trips to surrounding sites. It is truly a place that must be seen and experienced because I am always left speechless when I try to put into word the joy I always feel when I'm there.
