Very good hotel in a great location

Adelaide, Australia

The Lebua was the hotel of choice on another trip to Bangkok...six months after the last! Now that the IconSiam has opened this hotel is very convenient. But I just still love the proximity to the Chao Praya Express and BTS. Rooms were as usual well appointed and the turn down service always appreciated. Bangkok was super hot whilst we were there and I found we had to crank the aircon at night to keep things cool. The pool is great at this time of year. Breakfast seemed to be fairly good, as always however the one time I felt like smoked salmon it wasn’t being offered. This is a big hotel, offering big rooms but lovely service.

Expensive and it happy with the service

Oslo, Norway

Great view. Except that I feel it’s a tourist trap since the drink prices are far beyond anything..and I’m from Norway the most expensive country in the universe and I don’t even blink when they present me a 300 dollar bill home after visiting a restaurant with my wife home. Anyway reason I only give this place 2 stars is not because of the prices but because of the service. First they started to nag me about my totally black Nike Air indoor sneakers, I use those due to back problems. Funny thing is that I work in a bank, and no one have ever complained about my shoes at work (I wear them together with black business pants in business meetings all day long). Second: after I finished my first drink with my wife (2 glass of wine 2200 bath they gave me the bill without asking if I wanted another drink.. [email protected]& is that ? They probably thought I could not afford a second one .. even more funny is that we were the only guests.. let me think.. since it was hot.. went to China town before coming here and therefore I was wearing causal clothes and since my wife did not wear her LV bag this time they probably thought we were poor backpackers.. bye bye. At the same time I’m happy because I expected to spend much more money there but since they kicked us out I only had to pay 2200, one star for the view and one star for the saving, therefore 2 stars :-). Btw, last time I stayed in Bangkok I stayed at Hilton Millennium, I like their sky bar much better even if their building is only 37 floors or so.
