Perfect

Leeds, United Kingdom

We stayed at royal Zanzibar beach resort 20.11.18- 2.12.18, it has been amazing, by far the best holiday and resort we have stayed at from start to finish. We arrived and was greeted by reception staff who brought us some wipes and a fresh drink, they took our suitcases and showed us down to lunch, after lunch they showed us around the hotel and took us to our room. The room was very big and spacious, the cleaners went in 3 times a day to clean and left us bottles of water daily. The hotel is very clean and the gardens are very well maintained. The beds were so comfy!! The food is nice and has a good variety, the chef Franco who cooks pasta daily was very good and made lovely fresh pasta! On 2 nights of the week there is a pool dinner and beach dinner which is lovely, the food is fresh and kept nice and warm The staff were all amazing very friendly always greeting you with ‘jambo’. The staff always had a smile on there face and work extremely hard to make sure you have a good holiday, they went above and beyond to make sure we were happy !! A very big thank you to Silas who was amazing also nico, Laurent, bernard and Emmanuel, there was also 2 young men who worked at upepo bar who’s name we didn’t get but they were always dancing and very happy!! We had some pictures taken by Maggie who was very good, she was very pleasant and friendly! The entertainment was good and had something different every night, there was a singer on a evening who was lovely! Our flight was changed so we had to stay in Zanzibar an extra night, we went to reception to enquire about staying for one extra night they wanted €800 which we was shocked at and had to move hotel for 1 night which was a bit disappointing Overall this holiday has been perfect from start to finish with the most beautiful views !! Thank you to everyone at royal Zanzibar for making our holiday so special !!! We would definitely recommend!!

Totally overrated 😒

Bremen, Germany

This hotel is loud (music from neighbour till 1am at midnight), the food is not good the staff is overstrained, the rooms old and wracked-up and dirty and the hotel managerin is overstrained and incompetent. No hotel and area information or hotel maps available. Everywhere plastic (at the bar, the buffet - no environmental awareness - the worst example we‘ve seen during 4 weeks in Tansania & Sansibar). I do not recomment this hotel- far awayfrom 5* - maximum 3 or less!
