This is a somewhat belated review , but better late than never . We spent 2 idyllic weeks staying in a bungalow at Bequia Beach hotel. A huge thanks to Bengt and his wonderful team for looking after us so well. From the most helpful front desk staff to the great bar guys . Nothing is too much trouble . It’s the perfect place to unwind and the most gorgeous authentic island with the friendliest people . A very special place . .

Beautiful Bequia, true Caribbean pardise - love it!

London, United Kingdom

We arrived into Bequia from Barbados on a small inter-island aircraft, and were dealt with by friendly and efficient Airport staff. One of the Hotel staff was there to meet us and together we transferred to the Hotel in a Bequia style open backed taxi. The transfer did not take long as we made our way through a couple of local villages to the Bequia Beach Hotel, where we were greeted with friendliness, courtesy and Rum punch. It took no time at all to check in and we were shown to our room by Keenan who pointed out the key features of the hotel. When we got there our cases were waiting for us. We then went to explore for ourselves, the hotel environment was beautiful, clean and tidy.We had dinner at Bagatelles on the beach. It was their last night open before planned renovations during their quiet season, but the atmosphere was great and the food amazing. From then on Bagatelles was closed but continued to operate from the Blue Tropic restaurant. The food and service was very good. As this was their Quite Season there was not much evening entertainment, but we were treated to some great Jazz piano on one of the evenings. The fact that there was building work at Bagatelles did not detract from our enjoyment of the place .We spent the next few days touring the Island, lazing around on Princess Margaret beach and Jacks bar, a few minutes drive from the hotel. We met the owner Bengst who was great fun and told wonderful stories of how he came to Bequia and developed the Hotel basically from scratch. He values his staff and loves what he and they do. There were not many guests at this time of year but everyone made us feel welcome and treated us as amazingly well. We loved the Hotel, Island and people and it was with a large lump in our throat and tear in our eye that we had to leave to return to UK. We have visited the Caribbean several times before and Bequia has to be one of the most friendly and genuine islands, unpretentious and a real gem! Thank you for making us so welcome, we WILL be back!
