Pigeon Island - St Lucia

Like a living museum of legendary pirate history, this national park is the perfect spot for a scenic stroll and a great place to soak up seafaring history. Climb the hill to Fort Rodney for amazing views of nearby Martinique; it was from here that Admiral Rodney set sail in 1782 and destroyed the French fleet in the famous Battle of the Saintes. Housed in a former British officers’ mess building, the Pigeon Island Museum and Interpretive Centre is filled with ancient artifacts and interactive multimedia displays on local history, including the Amerindian occupation of 1,000 AD. It's a treat for the whole family with plenty to see and do.
