A little slice of Paradise

Richmond, VA

Just spent a wonderful week at Nisbet Plantation with my husband. We were looking to relax and restore in a beautiful place. Nisbet fit the bill perfectly! Favorite experiences include swimming in the lovely pool, walks on the beach, massages at the spa, breakfasts at Coconuts, dinners in The Great House, and morning hikes with Tim & Tina. The staff are all professional as well as warm and welcoming. We especially enjoyed time spent with Don, Nicole, Angela, Kaddy, Dan, Carol, Akeem, and Kelvis. Our cottage was comfortable and the food is fresh, delicious, and always beautifully presented. All in all, we couldn’t have envisioned a better stay. Come to Nisbets where you can have low key or adventurous— whichever you prefer. You won’t be disappointed!

Wonderful

Sydney

Nisbet must be one of the better places in the world to de-stress. Nevis is a beautiful island, and Nicole and all of the staff at Nisbet are wonderful - it would be unfair to single out any individuals; they are all friendly, attentive and obliging, and nothing is too much trouble. Tim the manager and Tina were very charming helpful hosts. Breakfast and lunch by the beach are excellent and the dinner menu in the great house changes every night (we remarked at one point how nice it would be to have fresh lobster and it miraculously appeared on the menu that night). The Thursday night BBQ is to die for, with excellent calypso-flavoured live music. Don't come here if you want a television in your room - one of the selling points, for us, is that there isn't one, although there is a screen in the great house if you really need it. And don’t come here if you want dancing and live music every single night. Nevis is enduring a terrible drought at the moment, so the grounds were a bit dry, but it didn't affect our enjoyment. They were having a bit of a seaweed plague as well, but there is a good pool right by the beach. While you lounge around, the helpful staff come around with ice water to keep you hydrated (and stronger stuff if you want it). The Culturama festival, which is on every year in July and August, was interesting - poetry, parades, calypso contests. While we were there, John Cleese announced his intention to move to Nevis, saying “It’s one of the nicest islands I’ve ever been on. The relationship between the races is absolutely superb. The people there are really kind.” We agree! If you need to chill - come here.Nevis is enduring a terrible drought at the moment, so the grounds were a bit dry, but it didn't affect our enjoyment.
