Welcome to your unique Caribbean country escape in natural Nevis. Montpelier Plantation & Beach offers a glimpse into a simpler way of life. Masterfully designed to be chic, yet laid-back and dating back to 1747, the sugar plantation is a wonderful balance of old and new world, with breath-taking views of beautiful island of Nevis and the gorgeous Caribbean Sea.

The rooms are elegant, bright and airy with cool colours, high beam ceilings and natural wood floors. Large windows allow fresh sea air to flow freely through the rooms and out to the private terraces with spectacular sea views, the ideal spot for relaxing on. The hotel offers three dining options and the unique opportunity to do rum tasting in the old sugar mill.

Spend lazy days in a beach hammock enjoying a freshly made cocktail or exploring ruins and discovering waterfalls the choice is yours.

Fantastic, Awesome, Amazing!

Tucson, AZ

My husband and I travelled to this WONDERFUL resort in December 2017. As frequent and experienced International travelers, we cannot say enough positive and glowing things about this amazing resort! The property itself is tranquil, lovely, lush, and peaceful. Meticulously maintained, the grounds are an absolute paradise. Additionally, as a historic Plantation, I appreciate the owner's dedication to preserving the significant and extraordinary buildings that are on the property. The location of the Hotel is inland, making it private and very accessible to short hikes/walks right from the property. The relaxation factor of this Hotel is high, as anywhere on the property is relaxation worthy! The rooms are no-frill and luxurious at the same time. The bed was very comfortable and our room faced the water view which was spectacular. A large, fresh flower arrangement was always in our room for us to enjoy. The Hotel owner's dog Cosmo was also a welcoming presence and, as an avid animal lover, I really enjoyed him being around the Hotel. Staff is exceedingly friendly, helpful, and non-obtrusive. The concierges went out of their way to plan excursions we like to do and then they (and they rest of the staff) would follow up with us as to how we enjoyed the excursion. The Hotel Manager personally drove us into town one day to give us a quick tour. On that note, the owner of the property and Manager were very hands-on, making sure we had only the best of times, which I appreciated immensely. The dining staff was equally as friendly and helpful. Upon leaving, I felt as though I was leaving family. The food at the resort was impeccable and delicious. We dined in the Sugar Mill one evening which I HIGHLY recommend. Additionally, I took a private cooking course with the Chef and I can truly say this was one of the highlights of the trip for me. We started with going into town to buy the fresh ingredients, followed by a wonderful tutorial on the preparation of the food, and then eating the meal we prepared for lunch! Fantastic! In addition, I really enjoyed the Caribbean Night buffet and the Cocktail Hours hosted by the Hotel. I enjoyed home-made yogurt each morning for breakfast (wow!). It was very obvious to us that Management truly cared about their guests' experience and really put forth an effort to ensure each guest was happy. Overall, this is an outstanding jewel of a resort and hotel that I would HIGHLY recommend to my fellow travelers. The personable feel, exquisite grounds, amazing food, and friendly staff all added to such a memorable and fantastic experience that we are sure to return!

Perfect in every way

Charleston, South Carolina

My husband and I hosted 40 of our friends and family here for our wedding in April. Not only did Muffin, Jackie, and Abi make our wedding the most beautiful event I could have imagined, but our friends could not stop talking about how much fun they have during their 4 day stay. Everything from the beautifully kept property, cocktails, food, and lovely staff, made this a trip that one of our friends will likely never forget. A special thank you to Abi for answering every one of my (thousand) emails with such kindness and enthusiasm. She brought all of my wedding dreams to life. Their F&B Manager, Claudio, is so charming, knowledgeable, and hospitable. It was a joy to chat with him. Every staff member that we encountered was so kind and so generous. They made us feel like family. The rooms are spacious, air conditioning is perfect, beds are comfortable-- oh, and Muffin's yellow lab, Cosmo, was a major highlight of our trip. This was our second stay at Montpelier and we will absolutely be back at least once a year. You will surely fall in love with Montpelier us as we have.
