• Jacaranda trees near the Union Building

Pretoria Holidays

Quiet, sedate Pretoria is a complete contrast to the frenetic atmosphere of nearby Johannesburg. Leafy and lined with purple-blossomed jacaranda trees, this genteel city has a beauty all of its own.

Pretoria celebrates the heroes that built this nation from a turbulent history. From Freedom Park, honouring South Africans who lost their lives for freedom, to the Voortrekker Monument, celebrating the pioneers who left the Cape Colony, Pretoria is a lesson in South African history, outlining courage and patriotism. South Africa's complex history and cultural diversity are reflected in Pretoria's architecture which ranges from Dutch and German to British colonial and art deco with the addition of a uniquely South African style.

Following a short break in scenic Pretoria, we recommend you extend your trip by heading to Kruger National Park for the safari experience of a lifetime.
