Pilanesberg National Park Holidays

Pilanesberg National Park is located west of Pretoria and borders with the Sun City resort. Perched on the eroded remnants of a long-extinct volcanic crater, and fringed by rings of hills, the national park is home to lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, brown hyena, fleet-footed cheetah, zebra, and hippos.

Float gently over the reserve in a hot air balloon and catch the expansive views at sunrise, before enjoying a Champagne breakfast in the spectacular Bushveld. You'll make life-long memories and gain a completely fresh perspective when you see the extensive, rugged landscape, lush green valleys and diverse wildlife from the sky.

  • Culture

Holidays in Pilanesberg Game Reserve are all about the game drives. See the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo) on a game drive here. If you are a morning person, get up with the dawn and take your coffee with you to see the animals waking. Or choose the evening game drive to see the sunset and the nocturnal creatures that come out at dusk.

  • Bird Watching

A drum circle is an enchanting and contagious experience, giving you the opportunity to feel the traditional rhythms of Africa. Gather around the campfire, pick up a drum and feel the beat in your veins, or let yourself get swept away by the movement of a traditional African dance.

  • Sun City

You will love the diversity of birdlife you will see on your holiday in Pilanesberg Game Reserve. There are more than 300 bird species to spot throughout the reserve. Walk through the bush and see the colourful array of birds or head to the walk-in aviary at Manyane Complex to see over 80 species of indigenous birds. The Manye Complex also has a self-guided trail that offers environmental education while seeing the diverse bird species.
