Peaceful riverside luxury

Situated on the Kruger National Park side – perched on stilits amid a canopy of 100-year old trees, close to the riverbank – Narina Lodge is a haven of serenity in the African bush. Here the abundance of wildlife crosses between reserves to provide a memorable game-viewing experience.

Narina's main lodge consists of a relaxing lounge with fireplaces and a deck for dining under the trees. Raised wooden walkways lead from the lodge to nine treehouse-style suites – each carefully built to benefit from the tranquil river views from its plunge pool, bed and bath.

After a thrilling day of game viewing, treat yourself to a spa treatment in the wellness centre before unwinding with an icy cocktail as you gaze at the stunning setting sun. To elevate your safari getaway to the next level, book a night in Tinyeleti Treehouse. You'll be taken to this exclusive 'bush bedroom' at dusk, and left to enjoy a gourmet picnic before sleeping under the clear starry sky in a romantic four poster bed.

The perfect honeymoon destination

Amsterdam, The Netherlands

We really were so sad to leave Narina, as it was absolutely the most amazing experience. The lodge is small with only 9 private lodges, each with its own plunge pool, deck and outdoor shower (full indoor amenities as well). Besides the privacy, this meant a lot of amazing sitings of animals from our deck and an incredible A+ Staff. The food: diets went out the window here as food was too good to resist. This all inclusive lodge really goes above and beyond. Meals were plentiful and often: snacks, coffee and tea in the AM before the game drive, snacks and drinks during the game drive, full breakfast after the game drive, lunch midday, high tea with cocktails and large snacks, evening game drive snacks and a full dinner. This place is an all inclusive so unless you splurged on the very high end everything was included. As an added plus, the bartender, Magnus, and waiters (Roman was our primary waiter) remembered my drinks and brought out shots after an especially fun game drive. Not a big party scene, very quiet and relaxed but the staff really love to make us happy. The game drives: our guide, Joe, and our tracker, Quolani, we’re truly incredible. Super dedicated, educated and passionate about the animals and conservation. Also, from the community and very involved in community efforts. (The lodge gives back to the community through education programs for the community.) With them, we saw all of the big five multiple times a day (really lucky!). Not only that, but they were both very informative about their tracking process and were happy to answer any and all questions. The guides were very clear: we want guests happy but conservation is first, so sometimes certain sitings were limited to preserve the area (lie dricing into a cub den). Obviously, sitings aren’t guaranteed but we feel super lucky with what we saw and with the tracking skills. Game drives were done twice a day with breaks in the middle for snacks and (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) drinks. The community feel: as with most lodges like this, you’re grouped up with your guide and a few other couples and spend a lot of time together. Which includes a communal braii (bbq) and long game drives. The treehouse: we upgraded for a night and did the treehouse. It was amazing. An open bed atop a treehouse with wide views of the bush, along the river. The noises at night were incredible and the stars were like nothing we’d ever seen. One of the best nights of our life. In addition, the staff does a great job of providing an elegant meal and drinks for us. It goes without saying but the decorations and ambience are truly beautiful. Staff: Frank, the manager, was fantastic. He knew our itinerary and coordinated everything for us, checking in with us and coordinating our spa treatment. Also, always there smiling and ready to help. Chanel, gave the best massage of our life. Rooms were cleaned three times a day with special touches like a prefilled bathtub and flower decorations. Hope to be back soon!

Amazing Safari experience!

We stayed at Narina for 3 nights, 2 nights at the lodge and one night in the Tinyaleti Treehouse. Everything about this place was perfection - from the staff, to the food to the room, we loved our stay at Narina. We didn't have very high expectations of food on safari, but we were blown away with how fabulous the food was. Every day there was a brand new three course customized menu with fabulous baked goods and we were super impressed by how delicious everything was! Our safari tour guide Simon + Isaac did a great job and we saw all of the big 5 during our stay. Highly recommend this place and hope to be able to come back sometime!
