Jock Safari Lodge

Enjoy boutique luxury and witness Kruger in all its glory

This award-winning lodge is located inside Kruger National Park and offers stunning views across, what many regard as, the best Big Five game viewing area in the world. Jock Safari Lodge is surrounded by lush vegetation, nestled at the point where two rivers join to flow as one, making it the ideal place for wildlife sightings as the animals come to drink at the water's edge.

Accommodation at Jock Safari Lodge is in the form of secluded thatched suites with decadently romantic bathrooms, private plunge pools and outdoor showers. With a river view, animals can be sighted right from the comfort of your own accommodation.

Contrast the excitement of game viewing with a visit to the Relaxation Retreat for some much-needed pampering. Unwind in the deluxe sauna, steam room and hydrotherapy bath after a day packed full of dusty safari experiences, from game drives to wilderness walks. As dusk falls, cool off with a sundowner from the well-stocked bar before savouring a star-lit dinner.

The lodge is child-friendly, with under fives allowed on game drives in closed vehicles and six to 11-year olds invited to join adults on normal game drives which are lead in open vehicles (T&Cs apply).

Animals Galore

Jocks offers a unique opportunity to see the animals up close. The abundance of wildlife in the concession area of Kruger is terrific. Jocks Safari Lodge has approval to go many places on safari that others are not allowed to venture. Travelling in river beds and to private water holes makes the experience unforgettable. In the 4 days we were there we played golf twice at Leopard Creek , which was brilliant as the course was fascinating with animals on the course and it backs on to Krueger so we saw hippos and crocodiles while playing. On safari we saw all the big 5, the ugly 5 and lots more. Lions, white rhinos, buffalo, elephants, hippos, giraffe, baboon, zebras, monkeys, leopards, cheetahs etc The accommodation is in very luxurious villas with a thatched roof. The outside spa, large bath and shower on the private balcony allows you to watch for animals in the riverbed below. Room was very comfortable with good bed. The safari guided were fun and knowledgeable. The kitchen staff enthusiastic and very welcoming. The meals were very generous. The stay included all meals, morning and afternoon teas and drinks , and pre-dinner beverages. Blessing, the manager was very accommodating with any requests.. Esp lending us some binoculars and rearranging our golf times and transport. He was great. (If you go there take your own binoculars as hiring them is expensive) The massage lady, another Blessing , was excellent. This was a great place to stay and see many varieties of animals and birds

Exceeded expectations

Whyteleafe, United Kingdom

What a fantastic place. Beautifully located in the national park. Great room with all required facilities. Staff all very friendly and very efficient / helpful. Food was fantastic. All freshly cooked and plenty of choices. Breakfast was superb. Best part though was the game drives. Our ranger was Jan who i must say went well above and beyond. His knowledge was great and he ensured that each drive was unique. We saw big 5 (and plenty of other animals) on almost every drive with some unforgettable close ups of the big cats. He was willing to stay in one place for as long as needed to get some excellent photos and he always seemed to stop in the best places. He has a real passion for his work which really rubs off on everyone. We were also really lucky to have some great companions on the drives. Overall highly recommended. This was the first time in many years that i truly did not want to leave a holiday location. It will live in my memory for a long time. Thanks Jock and Jan in particular.
