Enjoy boutique luxury and witness Kruger in all its glory

This award-winning lodge is located inside Kruger National Park and offers stunning views across, what many regard as, the best Big Five game viewing area in the world. Jock Safari Lodge is surrounded by lush vegetation, nestled at the point where two rivers join to flow as one, making it the ideal place for wildlife sightings as the animals come to drink at the water's edge.

Accommodation at Jock Safari Lodge is in the form of secluded thatched suites with decadently romantic bathrooms, private plunge pools and outdoor showers. With a river view, animals can be sighted right from the comfort of your own accommodation.

Contrast the excitement of game viewing with a visit to the Relaxation Retreat for some much-needed pampering. Unwind in the deluxe sauna, steam room and hydrotherapy bath after a day packed full of dusty safari experiences, from game drives to wilderness walks. As dusk falls, cool off with a sundowner from the well-stocked bar before savouring a star-lit dinner.

The lodge is child-friendly, with under fives allowed on game drives in closed vehicles and six to 11-year olds invited to join adults on normal game drives which are lead in open vehicles (T&Cs apply).

  • Fantastic world-class rangers and guides for game drives and wilderness walks
  • Small and intimate lodge with secluded thatched suites
  • Marvel at 3,000-year old rock art
  • Child-friendly lodge

Wow! What an experience! We stayed at jock for 3 nights at the end of July for the first leg of our honeymoon and cannot recommend it more. This was my first safari experience so did not know what to expect but it was very enjoyable. The lodge itself is fantastic. The newly renovated rooms were very comfortable and the views from the outside seating areas were spectacular. Was desperately hoping to see a herd of elephants walk past but I realise that is getting a bit greedy! The meals were always lovely (especially the bbq) and the atmosphere with the camp was great. It was nice to be able to eat with your fellow travellers and to meet new people. The rangers even had breakfast with us which allowed us to ask lots of questions about what we have seen on our morning game drives! The drives themselves were incredible. We were lucky enough to see all the big 5. Even managed to see the elusive cheetah! Our ranger Micah was amazing at spotting wildlife and was always happy to pass on his local knowledge. We had a wonderful time here. Thanks Jock!

First time to South Africa..

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Coupled a trip to Jock Safari lodge with several days in Capetown. Was amazing! Cannot recommend Jock Safari Lodge enough. Staff was attentive, pleasant and extremely professional. The lodge and grounds were gorgeous...a perfect blend of "old world" charm and decor and very modern amenities. Was absolutely lovely! The meals were delicious...a full breakfast after the morning game drive; lovely lunch at 1:00 and finally dinner alternating between barbecue or 3 course meal in dining room. The dining room was an indoor /outdoor space that overlooked the riverbed. One lunch we were treated to the sight of 30+ elephants lumbering by. Breath taking. Finally, Jan, our ranger was superb. Professional, knowledgeable, and with an incredibly keen eye for wildlife. The animal sightings were amazing and we learned so much. Jan worked very hard to ensure each drive was memorable. End of August/early Sept was ideal time to visit. Grass is low for ideal visibility on the drives and the temps were chilly in the mornings but warmed during the day. Virtually no bugs. Thank you Jock Safari. Was a trip of a lifetime that provided memories for a lifetime.
