Wonderful experience

Stayed at Gomo Gomo for 4 nights from 18th March. Within 2 hours of arriving we were sat, amazed, watching 20 elephants drinking from the waterhole by the lodge. Over the next days we saw giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, impalas and many more animals around the water. The two game drives a day were fantastic. We saw the big 5 and lots more, quite lucky really as lions had not been seen for a fortnight. The Ranger and Tracker, Hardus and Dominick, were so knowledgeable and made each day very special. The adrenalin was flowing when we went off road into the bush chasing leopards and lions. The open trucks could hold 12 people but we were never with more than 6. There were a handful of other trucks around at the same time but we very rarely saw them, even so no more than 2 trucks are permitted at an animal sighting at the same time. On each 3 hour drive you stop for drinks after about 2 hours, nothing better than having a beer or G&T as the sun sets over the bush. We only managed 1 bush walk out of 3, understandable really as the lions were close to the camp. The lodge itself is very comfortable, our chalet was large and cleaned daily. There is a bar with a good selection drinks in the main building and the staff go out of their way to make the evening meal around the camp fire special, as you listen for the lion roars in the distance. If you want a true safari experience look no further than Gomo Gomo, we were sad to leave.

The highlight of our holiday

Aylesbury, United Kingdom

We recently enjoyed our first experience of a safari thanks to the Gomo Gomo Game Lodge. It's a small lodge on a private reserve near to Kruger N.P. We loved it! We enjoyed 6 game drives, morning/afternoon,each different but all exciting and memorable. Special thanks to Gert and our tracker Dominic for their friendliness and wonderful ability to find interesting wildlife. Animal highlights for us included numerous elephants, lots of Cape buffalo, giraffes, rhinos and a close encounter with a leopard. Our lodge was clean and comfortable and all staff helpful and friendly. Our one slight doubt was the food, which didn't always suit our taste, though the Gomo Gomo team went out of their way to provide us with some alternatives. Our time at Gomo Gomo will remain a super memory for us, the highlight of our holiday and everything that we'd hoped for.
