Perhaps the best hotel in the posh Nelson Mandela Square

Tulsa, Oklahoma

Yes, the most luxurious and quaint hotel in the most sought-after part of the nation. The most famous in many ways is the trademark of this place. The Romanesque style accentuates the class of its own. But this doesn't mean that this was the best for travellers. For example, there are not enough plugs, and the shaved outlet simply failed to work. For the same money, you can get a better service with less prestige.

Modest Expectations for Michelangelo.

sydney

This hotel is in a prime location in Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton, Johannesburg. It’s attached to a large shopping precinct in the safe financial district, and has many restaurants within walking distance. Our room, 6036, was near the lift and looked out to the city. The atrium is spectacular and has been well integrated into the building. There the thoughtful configuration pretty much ends, as the rooms are in need of a makeover. While the bathrooms are “traditional marble” hotel style, the shower was very unreliable, either spasmodically scaldingly hot or freezing cold. The room furnishings and carpet have a tired, used appearance- outdoor “balcony” had dead leaves from a poor bedraggled forgotten potplant scattered about. The balcony next to ours had many cigarette butts littering the ground. Staff are friendly, helpful and kind. Breakfast was excellent. My egg white omelette was delicious. While it’s certainly a traditional top level hotel, it’s trading on past glory, to some extent.
