Thoroughly recommend to stay here if in P.E.

We stayed at this beautiful country house on our arrival in South Africa after a long flight and connection from the UK. It was a wonderful place to relax and a great way to start our holiday along the garden route. Linda our host was very hospitable, nothing was too much trouble for her nor for any of the charming staff. The dinner cooked by chef Natasha (and breakfast in the morning) was delicious. The restaurant table settings and ambiance was very special. Dinner was preceded by drinks in one of the several lounges with a lit fire and felt very romantic. The house is full of charm, with a lovely garden entrance with gracious old furnishings inside yet it felt comfortable and welcoming. The drive from the airport to the property does not lead one to expect what you find. Our room with 4 poster bed and bathroom with Victorian bath was unexpectedly lovely and we appreciated the complimentary water in the fridge, the snacks and fruit on arrival, tea and coffee and sherry decanter and glasses left at turn down. We had a lovely balcony overlooking the pool in the Flamingo room. We would not hesitate to recommend a stay here if you need to stay in Port Elizabeth. P.E. itself did not have alot to offer but the country house was a short drive from the airport and felt secure (as coming from the UK some of the area around seemed to us quite deprived).
