Romantic rooms and fine dining experiences

Situated in the heart of Franschhoek, Le Quartier Français is a sophisticated yet romantic boutique hotel with luxuriously appointed rooms, suites and independent villas, complemented with artworks by local artists.

Franschhoek is considered to be the gourmet capital of South Africa and your dining options at Le Quartier Français certainly reiterate this sentiment. The Tasting Room restaurant is the stage for award-winning chef Margot Janse and her unique, contemporary African-inspired tasting menu. Here, serious diners have the opportunity to experience a truly exceptional culinary experience. The Bar at LQF is a modern, sociable space which provides the perfect spot to relax and savour a craft gin cocktail, artisan beer or hand-picked selection of local wine.

If you seek something altogether lighter, head for Tuk Tuk – the microbrewery offers craft beer and a selection of delicious small plate dishes as well as Mexican-inspired meals. As the hotel is part of the Leeu Collection, you may also visit the nearby sister hotels.

  • Centrally located in Franshhoek
  • Complimentary transfers within the Franschhoek Valley
  • Swimming pool in the garden
  • Enjoy a selection of films and delicious local wine in The Screening Room

Lovely place, but became far to expensive

Arnhem

We have been in this place just before Mr. Singh took over. There is no doubt that it is and was a very memorable landmark. Lovely people, top restaurants etc. But under Leeu Collection, prices went about double. It was and is a 5 star property, but unless Mr. Singh wants a very quick return of his heavy investments in Franschhoek in general, there is no really judgment for this exceptional high prices, even if the place is exceptional.

Escape to the wine lands

Manchester, United Kingdom

On arrival at Le Quartier Français at lunch time my wife was feeling unwell and just needed to go to bed and rest, the staff could not have been more concerned or helpful ! Quickly a room was readied for us so that she could retire and throughout our stay my wife was asked how she was feeling by staff who were genuinely concerned ( i would like to convey my sincere thanks for this ) Franschhoek is basically built along one main street and Le Quartier Français is about half way along the street, the rooms are set around a square which gives a wonderful quiet setting, in the centre of the square is the pool and sun area all thoughtfully planted and kept immaculate, the rooms are extremely well presented and tasteful, the bar is located to the front of the property and has a program of live music on certain nights, the breakfast was superb taken in on a patio area adjacent to the bar, with the restaurant also set adjacent to the bar the hotel has everything you need, walk out of the front door and you have a micro brewery, a quality Indian restaurant, cafes and numerous shops all set on the one street. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Le Quartier Français which included a complimentary trip for a wine tasting at leeu collections vineyard (superb), We would like to thank the manager and all the staff that made our stay so comfortable, it was wonderful, thanks ! ( I understand that the leeu collection are opening a hotel in the English Lake District at Bowness, can’t wait !! )
